Moses out to hush Russian critics with repeat of Chelsea triumphs over Leicester

The Foxes travel to Russia for a key Europa League meeting on Wednesday, with both sides labouring behind surprise Group C leaders Legia Warsaw.

With seven wins in his 13 matches against Leicester, Moses is hoping to replicate the success he enjoyed against the Premier League side during his days with Chelsea, West Ham and more.

“They’re a team that I know very well,” he told the club website. “Every year they become stronger, and I’d say that they are one of the best clubs in England right now.

“They’re the holders of the FA Cup, and beat Manchester United last weekend. They are a confident and orderly team. The match will be very difficult.

“However, I personally have a good record against Leicester. If I’m not mistaken, I think I only lost to them once in the Premier League.

“When Leicester visited Chelsea in 2016, they were the reigning champions, but we won 3-0. I scored one of the goals in that game, and we won the title soon after. I hope that we can win on Wednesday too, and hope to boost my personal record as well. “

Moses is a permanent resident in Moscow following a number of loan spells towards the end of his Chelsea career; with Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak.

A mixed start to the season for Rui Vitoria’s side drew a strong response from corners of the Russian press, in particular focused on Moses, but the winger is paying no attention to their criticism.

“Well, first of all, I don’t read the Russian sports press,” stated the Nigerian. “Secondly, this is just stupid. If anybody forgot, I missed a few matches due to injury.
