Neymar fires warning to PSG teammates ahead of crunch Man Utd fixture

Neymar has warned PSG they will need to bring their “best game” to Old Trafford as they face Manchester United in a crunch European fixture on Wednesday.

Champions League Group H hangs in the balance with PSG and RB Leipzig level on six points, three behind United on nine.

The Parisians were beaten 2-1 at Parc des Princes by United last month and have been in a run of mixed form.

PSG also lost 2-1 to Leipzig before avenging the defeat with a 1-0 victory earlier this week, while they were held to a 2-2 draw in Ligue 1 by mid-table Bordeaux on Saturday.

Neymar has spoken ahead of a “decisive” fixture with Manchester United

The Old Trafford fixture is sure to have huge repercussions for both PSG and United’s hopes of qualification to the last 16, and superstar forward Neymar insists his side have no margin for error.

“We know the importance of the Champions League game on Wednesday,” he told French outlet Canal+ . “This is decisive. We didn’t play well against Leipzig, but we managed to win.

“On Wednesday we are going to try to have our best game, play well, but we need to improve certain details, play more as a team, be more organised, otherwise it is going to be difficult.”

Meanwhile, Neymar scored in the draw against Bordeaux but was less than impressed by his side’s showing. The Brazilian said: “We had a timid match. We managed to score goals, but we lacked certain details.

“We must improve on that, because if not, if it is in the league, it is a league where normally we manage to win a lot of games. If we can’t do that, it is going to be tough in the league as well as in the Champions League.”

Neymar also paid tribute to Diego Maradona after the Argentine’s death last week, adding: “Maradona is a football artist.

“He was someone very important for football, Maradona represented a lot for sport, the world is crying a lot.”
