Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Paul Pogba suffered a muscle injury during Manchester United’s 3-3 draw with Everton.
Pogba was playing a ball to Red Devils teammate Victor Lindelof when he suddenly pulled up and dropped to the ground late in the first half.
There appeared to be a problem with his right thigh, and he immediately gestured to the touchline to be replaced by Fred.
The 27-year-old has played a vital role in United’s midfield this season and was making his 27th appearance in all competitions.
Solskjaer says Pogba will be sent for a scan and he faces a nervous wait to discover the extent of the midfielder’s injury.
“It was a muscle injury, his thigh,” the Red Devils boss told reporters after the full-time whistle.
“We will check him tomorrow, see how bad it is. We hope it’s not too bad. He couldn’t carry on, we had to take him off.”
United led 1-0 when Pogba was taken off thanks to Edinson Cavani’s opener, and Bruno Fernandes doubled the advantage just before half-time with a stunning effort from outside the box.

But the Red Devils were stunned just after the break as Everton hit back through Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez.
Scott McTomiany restored United’s lead in the 70th minute, only for the Toffees to dig deep again and equalise deep into added time through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Solskjaer was frustrated by the way his side conceded their goals, especially Calvert-Lewin’s dramatic 95th-minute strike.
“We reacted well after their two goals but then why was there four minutes added in, we had to get the ball in the corner and see it out,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports .
“Poor goals to concede. I wouldn’t blame anyone on the goals but we know we could have done better as a team on all of them.”
