PFA Award winners in full including Premier League Team of the Year

Mo Salah has been named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, seeing off competition from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne whilst Phil Foden scooped the award for Young Player of the Year for a second straight year

Liverpool had six players in the Team of the Year

Mo Salah has scooped the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award for a second time after a stellar year.

The Liverpool star saw off competition from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Cristiano Ronaldo, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Harry Kane to claim the individual honour. Salah was unable to lead the Reds to the title, despite coming off the bench to net on the final day against Wolves. The Egyptian enjoyed a sensational start to the campaign, scoring a memorable hat-trick in a thumping win over Manchester United.

The Liverpool star was regarded by some as the world’s best player during his purple patch. Salah scooped another Golden Boot award, which he shared with Heung-min Son. The forward also added the FA Cup and Carabao Cup to his trophy collection.

The Young Player of the Year award, previously won by a host of stellar names and last year won by Phil Foden, was claimed once more by the City star. Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe were nominated alongside Jacob Ramsey, Reece James, Trent Alexander Arnold and Foden.

He said: “I’m really honoured, especially to win it back-to-back. It shows that I’ve come a long way this year with the consistency of my game. I’m really pleased to win it again. Only Dele Alli, Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler and Ryan Giggs have won it consecutively in the past.

In the Women’s Super League Sam Kerr claimed the Player of the Year award, beating Alex Greenwood, Pernille Harder, Lauren Hemp, Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema to the accolade. Meanwhile the best Young Player award went to Hemp after her efforts with City. She saw off competition from Lauren James, Frida Maanum, Jessica Naz, Ella Toone and Maya Le Tissier.
