Paul Pogba is said to be enthused by the idea of playing under incoming Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick.

The French midfielder is out of contract at United in the summer and was expected to leave the club on a free.

Real Madrid,Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are just three of the clubs who have been linked with the World Cup winner over the years, who has constantly flirted with the United exit.

Pogba is currently out with a thigh injury and was ruled out for up to eight weeks on November 8.

When he returns to first-team action, Rangnick will be in charge of the Red Devils, and it seems Pogba is looking forward to playing under the German.

According to The Athletic, Pogba has received positive feedback on Rangnick through contacts in the game.

He is excited by the prospect of working under the German and clearly feels he is the right candidate to turn United back into a top-four and eventually a title-winning side.

Pogba snubbed signing a new deal at United earlier in the season as his contract continues to run down.

But the contract is still on the table and if Pogba sees enough from now until the end of the season he is likely to U-turn on his decision to leave and sign an extension.

Temporary Man United boss Michael Carrick took charge of what will likely be his final Red Devils game this weekend against Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Man United held the Blues to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, with Jadon Sancho on the score sheet for the Red Devils before Jorginho equalised from the penalty spot.

Rangnick is said to have had no say on United’s formation, team selection or tactics.

Carrick said of the result: “At the moment we’re feeling a little bit frustrated and disappointed really. Being in front and suffering from a penalty that I don’t think was a penalty is a disappointment.”
