Paul Pogba is a target for Paris Saint-Germain with Mauricio Pochettino keen to make the Manchester United superstar his marquee summer signing.

Pogba, 28, is entering the final year of his Manchester United contract with no agreement as yet on a new deal – despite a will on the part of the club to keep him.

It means the France midfielder will be free to speak to foreign clubs from January.

But PSG are looking to sell players this summer in the hope that they can raise the £50million they believe will meet the fee United want to do business.

Pochettino is already some way into a substantial rebuild at PSG.

The former Spurs boss having brought in Euro 2020 winning Italy keeper Gianluigi Donarumma, highly-decorated defender Sergio Ramos, right-back Achraf Hakimi and former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum of the Netherlands.

Now PSG want Pogba and are also rivalling United’s interest in Rennes rising midfield star Eduardo Camavinga.

The teenage star of the Ligue 1 club is also out of contract next summer which has led to speculation that he could be sold for a greatly reduced fee in relation to his market price this summer.

Pogba told reporters ahead of Euro 2020 when asked about his contractual situation: “I have one year left on my contract, everybody knows it. I know that the club is … well there has not been yet a concrete offer.

“It has not been done. We finished the season with the Europa League then we went on holidays.

“So, I didn’t sit down with Ed Woodward and the manager. We haven’t spoken and of course, I am still at Manchester United.”

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said about Pogba’s future at the club: “We want the best players here and the club knows what I want.

“I don’t know how the talks are going, but if we are going to fight for the best trophies then we need to have the best players.”

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been vocal about his client’s future in the past and last season gave quotes that threw huge doubt over the future of the midfield star.

Ahead of a crucial Champions League clash between United and RB Leipzig, Raiola told Tuttosport: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

“Paul is unhappy with Man United as he is no longer able to express himself in the way that he would like and as he is expected to. Paul needs a new team, a change of air.

“He is under contract for the next 18 months and it will expire in the summer of 2022.”

Pogba has spent five seasons at United in his second spell at Old Trafford since re-joining the club from Juventus and has scored 38 goals in 199 first-team appearances in the time frame since.
