PSG vs Barcelona: Champions League preview and predictions

arcelona will have to produce another remarkable Champions League comeback against PSG if they are to reach the quarter-finals of this season’s competition tonight.

The size of the task this time is comparable, with PSG having run out 4-1 first-leg winners at Camp Nou last month, thanks in large part to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappe.

Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to see his side finish the job in the return at Parc Des Princes as they look to go one better than last season, when they were beaten in the final by Bayern Munich.

PSG vs Barcelona is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

The game will be played behind closed doors at Parc Des Princes because of current coronavirus restrictions.

Neymar is back in full training after a month out through injury, but is not ready to return against his former club. Pochettino will have several first team stars fresh after rotating his side for the Coupe de France meeting with Brest, but Moise Kean (Covid-19) and Juan Bernat (knee) are out.

Both Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto made recent comebacks from injury for Barcelona, only to aggravate their problems, while Jordi Alba is also a doubt. Philippe Coutinho and Ansu Fati are out.

Barcelona will have to go for it from the outset in Paris and that will surely make for an entertaining affair. However, they will once again be open to the pace of Mbappe on the counter-attack and even if they were to score the four goals they need to progress, it’s hard to see how they couple that with a clean sheet.
