Ravens star Justin Tucker kicks longest field goal in NFL history

ustin Tucker kicked the longest field goal in NFL history as the Baltimore Ravens claimed a dramatic win over the Detroit Lions.

The four-time Pro Bowler – widely regarded as one of the best kickers of all time – attempted a 66-yard effort as time expired in Sunday’s close clash at Ford Field, with his kick incredibly bouncing up off the crossbar and through to spark wild scenes of jubilation among the Ravens players.

The kick sealed a narrow 19-17 victory for Baltimore over Detroit, with John Harbaugh’s team moving to 2-1 after their memorable win over the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.

The NFL field-goal record had previously belonged to Matt Prater, who produced a successful 64-yard kick for the Lions against the San Francisco 49ers back in December 2013.

Prater, now playing for the Arizona Cardinals, earlier had the chance to break his own record in Week 3 with a 68-yard attempt against the Jacksonville Jaguars, only for his attempt to fall short and be returned 109 yards for a touchdown by Jamal Agnew.
