Ravens ‘take knee in prayer’ as team gives health update on chain gang member
The Baltimore Ravens’ game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday was overshadowed by a scary sideline incident.
According to reports, a member of the chain gang collapsed on the Ravens’ sideline and was quickly administered CPR by medical officials.
Footage circulating on social media showed medical experts administrating CPR to the stadium worker as play was stopped by officials with 2:36 to go in the second quarter at M&T Bank Stadium.
Ravens players, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, could be seen taking a knee in prayer before the individual was eventually stretchered off the field.
“Scary situation in Baltimore: A member of the chain gang collapsed on the Ravens’ sideline and was quickly administered CPR by medical officials,” one prominent NFL account posted on X.
“He has since been carted off the field and taken inside. Players took a knee in prayer.”
Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic posted: “There’s a medical emergency along the Ravens sideline. It looks like with a member of the chain gang.”
Thankfully, the individual waved his hands a few times as he left the field.
According to the Ravens, he was ‘alert and responsive’ upon leaving the field and was on his way to a local hospital.

Fans on social media also sent their prayers to the chain gang member.
In the NFL, the chain gang, also known as the chain crew, is a group of people who manage the signal poles on the sidelines during a football game.
“Really hope he’s okay we love the chain gang,” posted one fan.
“Prayers for him and his family. Hoping he can recover,” another added.
“Man that’s terrible, prayers to him and his family,” a third wrote.
“Awful. Prayers [heart emoji],” a fourth posted.
Play eventually resumed with the Ravens up 6-3.
Baltimore dropped their season opener to AFC rivals the Kansas City Chiefs last week, 27-20.
The Raiders also lost their Week 1 matchup. They fell in a divisional clash to the Los Angeles Chargers, 22-10.
The Ravens, who reached the AFC title game last year, went on to lose the game against Las Vegas on Sunday, 26-23.
Gardner Minshew led a stunning fourth quarter comeback as the Raiders dropped 13 straight points to overcome a 10-point deficit.
Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson nailed a 38-yard field goal with less than 30 seconds to go to ice the game.
For the time in nearly ten years, the Ravens have started the season 0-2.
The Raiders, meanwhile, are 1-1.
