Despite spending over £125million in the summer, Manchester United want and need to be active in the upcoming January transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is fighting to save his spot in the dugout at Old Trafford and if he survives until the turn of the year then he has every chance of proving he is the right man for the job.

The window gives the Norwegian a chance to prove to the powers above that he can be smart in the window, and some top recruitment could help get the fans back on board.

Here Mirror Football takes a look at the latest United transfer rumours circulating about Solskjaer’s side.

Diogo Dalot is set to reunite with former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, who is now in charge of Roma.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A side are working hard to agree on a loan to buy deal for Dalot, who has played just 87 minutes of Premier League football this season.

It is believed that the deal would initially be worth £1.2m which will rise to £12m if Roma want to keep the defender permanently.

Dalot spent a season on loan in Italy last season when he joined AC Milan and found himself featuring far more regularly than he ever has at the Red Devils since his arrival in 2018.

La Liga outfit Real Madrid have entered the race to secure the signature of Aurelien Tchouameni, who is reportedly one of United’s top targets.

The Monaco midfield is seen as the man that could solve the Red Devils’ woes in the centre of the park and also potentially replace Paul Pogba if he decides to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

However, Los Blancos are considering deals for both Pogba and Tchouameni, with the latter seen as more of a long-term investment, says Marca.

Tchouameni, 21, was linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer but it never materialised, so the prospect of lining up with his international teammate, Pogba, for a Madrid side who are looking to dominate Europe could prove very persuasive.

Henderson urged to leave

Out of favour shot-stopper, Dean Henderson has been urged to leave United at the soonest possible opportunity by former Red Devils goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.

The England international is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season due to the good form of David De Gea.

Dean Henderson has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford

Speaking to talkSPORT, Bosnich said: “I think he should go. He’s at the stage of his career where he needs to be playing regular football,

“He’ll know that as well. I understand that at the start of the season, him having a go in pre-season to see how things pan out.

“But I think from Dean Henderson’s point of view, he needs to start looking after Dean Henderson.”

The former Sheffield United loanee was linked with a move to Newcastle United earlier this week and the Magpies could put an offer on the table in the January transfer window.
