Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher have both agreed by predicting Manchester City will win the Premier League title.

The pair of pundits made headlines on Sunday, clashing in box-office fashion over the impact of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.

But Keane and Carragher were able to share the same view when it came to which team will be lifting the Premier League trophy come May.

They backed holders City, currently one point behind leaders Chelsea after 13 games and one above chasers Liverpool, to keep hold of their English crown.

“I kind of wrote off Manchester City last year and regretted it because they turned it on from November and won it so easily,” former United captain Keane admitted to Sky Sports.

Keane and Carragher both think Man City will win the title

“At this moment in time, as brilliant as Liverpool and Chelsea are, I’d go with Man City.”

Ex-Liverpool defender Carragher agreed by saying: “Liverpool have kept a few clean sheets but they’ve looked a bit open at times.

“I think Man City right now look really strong defensively.

“Liverpool are scoring all the goals but I’d go with Man City right now.”

Neither sided with Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues’ former striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, struggled to make a concrete prediction, although the Dutchman noted he would “love” if Thomas Tuchel and co became champions.

“It’s difficult to say, it’s going to be tight,” Hasselbaink explained.

“I think all three teams are very, very close. All three can win it. Liverpool are very strong, Man City can win 16 games in a row!

“I would love for Chelsea to win it but it won’t be easy, it will be tight.”

In October, another ex-United skipper, Gary Neville, also backed City but pointed out what could derail Pep Guardiola from lifting yet another major trophy in Manchester.

“You have to go City because I picked them at the start of the season, but I do think Chelsea [could run it close],” Neville stated.

“They’ve played Arsenal, City, Tottenham and Liverpool and they’re top of the league, they’ve had a really tough start.

“I do think City’s issue with no centre-forward might just bite them. Liverpool have the best XI, but I’m not sure if one or two things go wrong like it did last season with [Virgil] Van Dijk or if [Mohamed] Salah got injured, I think they’re a little bit exposed to that.

“I think Chelsea’s side is really strong. We’ve seen without two or three centre-halves they can perform. I’m saying City but I do think Chelsea could go close if not win it.”
