Salah appears to make admission that he will LEAVE Liverpool next summer

Mohamed Salah appeared to confirm this is his last season with Liverpool in his post-match interview at Manchester United.

The Reds thumped their rivals 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Salah getting on the scoresheet and grabbing two assists.

He put himself in the Premier League history books in the process, too.

But after sending Liverpool fans wild in the game, Salah then had Reds fans’ hearts dropping into their stomachs as he spoke to Sky Sports after his side’s victory.

Discussing his side’s excellent start to the season, he said: “I had a good summer, I had a long time to work on myself and think positively because, as you know, this is my last year at the club.

“I just want to enjoy it, and I don’t want to think about it.

“I feel free to play football, and we’ll see what happens next year.”

Salah has been with Liverpool since 2017, signing from Roma for an initial £36.5million.

Since then, the winger has been a key player for the Reds and cemented himself in Anfield legend.

He was a vital cog in the Jurgen Klopp sides that won the Premier League in 2020 and the Champions League in 2019, as well as other honours in that era.

And he’s been affectionately named ‘the Egyptian King’ by adoring Liverpool fans.

In 351 appearances, he’s bagged 213 goals and 90 assists.

That makes him the third highest scorer in the club’s history. Only Roger Hunt (262) and Ian Rush (339) have netted more.

But with his contract expiring next June, Liverpool fans will fear this will be the last campaign they see Salah in Red.

“Heading into the game, I said ‘look, this could be the last time [at Old Tafford]’,” Salah continued.

“Nobody has spoken to me about a contract, so I’ll play my last season, and see at the end of the season.

“It’s not up to me, it’s up to the club, but we will see.”

And it appears his fellow Liverpool players are keen for him to stick around, too.

Speaking to talkSPORT after the game, Salah’s teammate Ryan Gravenberch said: “If you see him today, he is a really good player and really good for the club, but at the end the decision is for himself.

“If it’s me, I want Mo to stay.”
