Liverpool’s injury list has picked up a couple of new names ahead of the trip to Fulham, with Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsmikas both doubtful for the clash with the Londoners.
The pair, both summer signings, picked up knocks in Wednesday’s Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland, with their absences set to take the number of definitely unavailable Liverpool players up to seven.
Jurgen Klopp had been boosted with the returns of both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita to the starting lineup in Denmark, with the pair following on from their appearances off the bench in the win over Wolves in the Premier League.
Both are set to be available for the trip down south, while Alisson is also in line to take over in goal from Caoimhin Kelleher.
However as yet there is no return to action for Thiago Alcantara, James Milner or Xherdan Shaqiri, with the pair still joining long-term absentees Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez on the sidelines.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get a place in the squad after Klopp confirmed the former Arsenal man has returned to training with the first-team.
The England midfielder hasn’t played at all in 2020/21 after picking up a knee injury in pre-season, but he is now closing in on a comeback.
Klopp suggested that Sunday’s clash could come too soon for him, although he may be included in the squad.
“He has been doing parts of training now for a week or so, he is now in full training and we will see,” said Klopp on Friday.
“So the situation probably demands to involve him as soon as possible, but I don’t know if the weekend is that already. Nobody else is coming back, I’m afraid.”
