The 22-year-old has struggled for action in LaLiga this season, playing just twice in the past two months.
Odegaard, however, has trained with the Arsenal squad this week and could make the bench for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.
Solskjaer naturally knows all about his fellow Norwegian and believes the Gunners have made a good signing.
However, he hopes it takes the youngster a while to get going as he prepares to take his side to north London this weekend.
“Of course, Martin is a very talented young player and we know from the national team that he can cause any team problems,” said Solskjaer.
“I just hope he’s not finding his form on Saturday. I wish him all the best, he’s a good boy, good attitude, right character, so I’m sure they’ve made a good signing there.”
