Spotify billionaire Daniel Ek offers to buy Arsenal as Kroenke handed route out

Spotify billionaire Daniel Ek is ready to buy Arsenal should Stan Kroenke want to sell up.

The Gunners owner has come in for huge criticism this week following his role in the proposed Super League.

Kroenke and the Arsenal fans have endured a difficult relationship with supporters taking issue with how he runs the club.

The American businessman is rarely seen at games and has overseen the Gunners’ demise in recent years.

Fans staged a protest outside the Emirates before Friday night’s game against Everton as the fallout from the failed Super League plans continues.

Should Kroenke want to offload the club Spotify owner Ek has said on Twitter he would be interested.

He said: “As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember.

“If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.”

Ek launched Spotify in 2008 and the platform is currently valued at around £58bn.

Kroenke’s son, Josh, himself a board member, addressed fans in a forum as they aim to build bridges.

Anger and frustration is at an all-time high and his attempts to reconnect with fans was unsuccessful as he dealt with a barrage of unrelenting questions.

When quizzed on his father’s lack of contact he said: “I would say that if you’re hearing from me you’re hearing from my father. I’ve always said that for years now. When I speak or he speaks you’re usually hearing from both of us.

“I might not be my father but that’s why I’m here today. As far as the tone of my voice, I’m doing my best to try and convey the feelings that are in my heart.

“From a trust perspective I’m not asking you to trust me. All of our trust was shredded this week, I fully understand that.

“That’s why I’m trying to rebuild some sort of relationship with the supporters, starting with yourselves.”
