Stunning footage of TD throw by Anthony Richardson reminds fans of his NFL power
Anthony Richardson was the biggest risk of the 2023 NFL Draft.
A season later, he’ still proving himself with the Indianapolis Colts.
But the second-year quarterback has franchise quarterback talent, and Richardson reminded NFL fans how much potential he still possesses with one monster touchdown throw for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
While first quarters across the league were rolling into second periods in Week 1, Richardson unleashed a TD that instantly went viral on social media.
“What a throw!” one fan tweeted.
“Bro got that dog in him,” a second fan posted.
“Amazing,” a third fan wrote.
With the Colts trailing the Houston Texans 3-0 in an AFC South battle, Richardson attempted to plant his right foot before making a throw.
He slipped and almost fell to the turf in Indy, then recovered as the pocket began to collapse.
What followed was a throw that few NFL QBs can make, and it was a reminder why the Colts used the No. 4 overall pick in 2023 on the inexperienced QB from Florida.
Richardson set himself, briefly looked downfield, then delivered a perfect 60-yard TD to Alec Pierce that couldn’t have been thrown better.
Indy suddenly had a 7-6 lead, while Richardson’s name was trending all over X.

“Welcome back Anthony,” a fan tweeted.
“That was a dot,” a second fan wrote.
Richardson was limited to just four games during his rookie campaign.
He completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 577 yards, three TDs, one interception and four rushing TDs.
But a shoulder injury held Richardson back.
Coming out of Florida, his rawness and lack of experience couldn’t be denied.
Richardson only played in more than eight games in one season with the Gators.
He was also drafted after C.J. Stroud, while the Colts’ No. 4 selection was questioned by many.
Richardson reminded critics in Week 1 of the 2024 season of his awesome potential.
With one huge 60-yard TD, he went viral and stunned fans across the league.
