Tammy Abraham’s Chelsea future was plunged into further doubt after being left out of their squad for Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Leicester City.
Thomas Tuchel had no place in his match day squad for the England international – despite him being Chelsea’s top scorer this season.
Timo Werner started in attack for the Champions League finalists, with veteran striker Olivier Giroud and record signing Kai Havertz both among the substitutes.
That left Abraham – in attendance at Wembley – to watch from the stands.
While he was there, his long-time girlfriend, Leah Monroe, took to Instagram to let rip at the Blues boss over his decision.
“How on earth do you make the decision to leave your top goal scorer out of the squad for a final!?!” she declared in a now-deleted post.
“The same person who even scored the goals to actually qualify for this competition? “It’s not making any sense to me whatsoever.”
She also added: “Not even the bench?! This has to be a joke.”
Abraham’s long-term future is in serious doubt.
David Moyes is understood to be a big fan of the Blues’ No.9, but believes the Hammers may struggle to meet any potential big-money fee – amid suggestions Chelsea would be looking for a figure in the region of £40million.
“It would rule us out completely. We will be ruled out,” said Moyes.
“So if that’s the figure and that’s what’s being said, we are ruled out.
“We don’t have that money, we don’t have that to buy a striker at that price, no.
“Is that sort of figure our total spend? It may well be. But you never know here.
“I don’t think we will be making a purchase of that for any one player. I’d be surprised if we were.”
Having been a key player under Frank Lampard, Abraham now finds himself as fourth choice under Tuchel and has been stalling over committing to a new long-term contract.
A summer exit looks increasingly likely.
