Arteta delivers verdict on Arsenal’s win over Tottenham

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry said “We’re here to stay” after the legendary striker and Spotify cofounder Daniel Ek were spotted in the stands at the Emirates.

The Frenchman has been front and centre of the Swedish businessman’s interest to purchase the Gunners.

Henry was spotted in the stands with Ek during Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the first North London derby of the season.

The former Barcelona and New York Red Bulls hitman was donning an Arsenal shirt in the stands as he watched Mikel Arteta’s side blitz Nuno Espirito’s men.

And the following night, Henry was in the Sky Sports’ studio for Monday Night Football, where he said Ek retains an interest in buying the club.

Daniel Ek and Thierry Henry enjoyed Arsenal’s 3-1 victory against fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur from the stands in the Emirates

“To be able to get there you need to have someone to respond on the other side, it didn’t happen yet but we, he, is here to stay,” said the Arsenal legend.

“So let’s see what going to happen but for the moment we obviously enjoyed the win.

“I think it’s going to be long, how long it’s going to be? I don’t actually know but we’re here to stay.”

A large proportion of Arsenal’s fan base have made their resentment to current owner Stan Kroenke known.

The American businessman, who is the owner of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, has become known as ‘Silent Stan’ due to his rare appearances at the Emirates and in the media.

Relationships have always been strained, but the relationship was looked as good as shattered after the club were one of the leaders in the collapsed efforts to form the European Super League.

Soon after the attempt to join the franchise ended, Ek announced he would be willing to purchase the club if Kroenke decided to sell the club.

Could Daniel Ek soon become the new owner of Arsenal? Comment below

Daniel Ek has registered a very public interest in purchasing the Gunners

“As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember,” he said on social media.

“If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring,”

Ek even reportedly tabled an offer believed to be around £2billion to buy the club.

He has been very active in the media when it comes to his desire to buy the club, and he announced his intentions towards the end of April.

Stan Kroenke has a fractious relationship with the Arsenal fans

He said: “Inaccurate reports emerged saying I have not made a bid for Arsenal Football Club.

“I think it’s important to correct the record – this week an offer was made to both Josh Kroenke and their bankers that included fan ownership, representation at the board and a golden share for the supporters.

“They replied that they don’t need the money. I respect their decision but remain interested and available should that situation ever change.”

The Swede will be enjoying what he has seen from the North Londoners in recent weeks.

Arteta’s side appear to have put their abysmal start to the season where they lost their first three league matches for the first time since 1954.

However, three consecutive wins against Norwich City, Burnley, and Tottenham have raised the mood and confidence levels at the Emirates Stadium.

Three goals in 22 minutes from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and Bukayo Saka, secured a memorable victory against their fiercest rivals at the Emirates.
