Today’s horse racing at Kempton – LIVE!

We’re less than three weeks away from the Cheltenham Festival but there is still an exciting card on display at Kempton today, with no fewer than four graded races.

The Grade 2 Close Brothers Pendil Novices’ Chase goes off at 13:50 and sees Tamaroc Du Mathan – who has form behind Shishkin this season – face a small four-runner field as he looks to score for Paul Nicholls.

Then, at 14:25, the Grade 2 Close Brothers Adonis Juvenile Hurdle is headlined by Alan King’s Tritonic, who could have Triumph Hurdle hopes at Cheltenham if performing well today.

The Grade 2 Sky Bet Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle at 15:00 features an intriguing Irish raider in Cape Gentleman, but another Nicholls runner, Atholl Street, looks set to go off favourite.

The graded action is rounded off by a competitive-looking Grade 3 Close Brothers Handicap Chase at 15:35, featuring lots of familiar names.

You can follow all the action at Kempton, as well as updates from the key races at Lingfield, Newcastle and Fairyhouse with out LIVE blog below.

Result: 2:40 Lingfield

A muddling race this and Rab Havlin was always well-placed on the winner, who was in command from some way out. Father Of Jazz failed to pick up on this rise in class.

Six minutes to the big one at Lingfield! Father Of Jazz is a little uneasy at 2.76, with Felix 3.55.

What a performance! Tritonic was briefly squeezed down the back but joined his old rival Casa Loupi two out and absolutely burst clear from the last. He is now 5.6 for the Triumph on Betfair.

If you want to back Tritonic for the Triumph be quick! He is 8-1 with the Betfair Sportsbook. They’re at the start.

Just 12 minutes to the Adonis at Kempton. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Tritonic can do here. He’s a 1.94 chance on Betfair.

Result: 2:05 Lingfield

They went a proper pace here (around 42mph), with Lord Riddiford just holding on from favourite Moss Gill. Blue De Vega ran on very nicely into third.

We’ve Listed combat in Lingfield coming up at 2:05. Rocket Action looks quite interesting but the price has contracted and stablemate Blue De Vega three places at 4.3 is preferred.

Paul Nicholls said of the winner to Racing TV: “This opens up new options for us as he stayed the trip. Those good two-and-a-half mile races are open to him. He’s a progressive young horse.”

Result: 1:50 Kempton

1. Tamaroc Du Mathan evs Fav

That was a cracking race to watch. GA Law made it a good test but did tend to jump a bit to his left. Tamaroc Du Mathan cruised to the front two out and was brilliant at the last.
