Fury originally planned to link up with Tysons trainer SugarHill Steward in the US, but he will now stay in the UK under the guidance of Tyson and his father
Fury will meet fellow celebrity Jake Paul in an eight-round catchweight fight on December 18 in Tampa, Florida.
The 22-year-old originally planned to train in the US with Tyson’s head trainer SugarHill Steward but has since returned to the UK after a “family emergency”.
He will rely on the services of Tyson and father John to help him prepare for the eighth fight of his professional career.
And former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi thinks Tyson will be of great help for Tommy during his preparations.
“I’ve seen some videos and stuff. He’s helping him train and he’s involved in camp. Jake has a lot to work on, so does Tommy but I think Tommy has a big motivation in having Tyson with him.
“Jake doesn’t have any dumbies around him either. BJ Flores is a smart guy, he’ll have him ready as well. But I think it’s a legitimate 50/50 fight.
“I wouldn’t consider it Jake fighting a boxer. It’s Jake the reality star turned boxer versus Tommy the reality star turned boxer. That’s all it is, am I wrong?”
Paul has fought a fellow YouTube star, former basketball player and two retired MMA fighters since turning professional last year.
The 24-year-old – who wants to eventually win a world title – now wants to test himself against “real” boxers such as Fury.
Who will win when Tommy Fury takes on Jake Paul ? Let us know in the comments section below
Paul predicts he will knockout Fury – who has never been scheduled for an eight-round fight – in the later rounds of their clash.
Fury has won four of his seven fights by knockout and thinks he will stop Paul in just two rounds.
And Steward thinks Tommy is in “good hands” under his brother’s guidance for the fight.
“I trained Tommy for about a week and a half here in the US then he had to go home for a family emergency,” Steward told iFL TV.
“He’s in good hands with trainer T over there. Any fighter I train can train other fighters, that’s just the way I teach it.
“He’s ok with Tyson over there. I’ll see those guys when they come over to the US, which is probably 10 or 11 days prior to the fight.
“We’ll put this all together then it’s knockout time baby.”
