Tottenham Hotspur director of football Paratici has reportedly got his eye on just under £90m worth of talent in the form of two stars also being tracked by Juventus – his former employers
Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be planning an £89m raid from under the noses of Serie A giants Juventus with huge influence from their director of football Fabio Paratici – once of the Turin-based outfit.
Paratici’s name remains a divisive one back at Juventus with many members of the ‘Old Lady’ faithful claiming he underwhelmed during his time near the top of the club’s hierarchy.
Reports touting him with a potential big-money swoop for not one but two of Juve’s own transfer targets will do little to ease relations between the director and the 36-time Serie A winners.
There were fears from other high-ranking Juventus boardroom members that Paratici’s departure would come back to haunt the club due to the chance he could hijack transfers and aim to send stars in the direction of Spurs instead – those fears appear to be coming true.
Italian media are clearly stoking the flames of this soap opera quickly emerging between Spurs, Juventus and Paratici himself – a messy transfer triangle.
Outlet CalcioMercatoWeb have described Paratici as an ‘ex’ of Juventus’, as they claim: “Sometimes exes come back, sometimes they hurt a lot. This is the case of Fabio Paratici.”
They are of course, alluding to the fact that Paratici has two top names in his sights that he will try to entice to North London.
The players in question are Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic – the Serbian international rumoured to be wanted by a number of top clubs across the continent.
The 21-year-old striker has opted against penning a new deal with his current side and extending his stay, causing a number of teams to be on red alert as his departure edges closer.
Paratici distanced Spurs with a move for the striker, claiming: “Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it’s normal – he’s not in our plans, for now.
“I’m not gonna speak about Dusan Vlahovic as he’s under contract with Fiorentina.”
Despite those comments, reports in Italy still suggest both Vlahovic and AS Monaco ’s Aurelien Tchouameni are on Spurs’ transfer wish-list come January.
This would make for unwelcome news for Juventus, who are rumoured to have been monitoring the situation of both talents for a number of months.

Despite Juventus’ status at the top of the European elite, Spurs are likely to be able to match any realistic offer the Italians put forward for either player.
Spurs also boast the advantage of Paratici’s contact book – likely to be lengthy and containing a number of top-ranking agents and representatives.
