Tottenham player ratings vs Leeds : Dier at fault as Bale struggles

ottenham’s slim top-four hopes were on Saturday all but ended by a 3-1 defeat at Leeds.

In a stretched second half, Moreno Rodrigo added a third for Leeds on the counter-attack.

Here is how we rated the Tottenham players…

His cat-like reflexes kept Spurs in the game with a couple of acrobatic saves. Powerless to prevent the goals and actually made a fine save to deny Reguilon before Dallas struck.

Sloppy. Leeds’ first two goals came from doubling-up down his flank but he was short of cover from Gareth Bale. Forced a fine save from Illan Meslier.

The best of Tottenham’s defenders but not an easy task playing alongside Dier, Reguilon and Aurier when they are this chaotic.

Arguably at fault for all three Leeds goals, allowing Jack Harrison’s cross past him for the first, statuesque for Bamford’s strike and guilty of playing Raphinha onside for the third.

In a chaotic start, forced a fine save from his own goalkeeper before Dallas’ goal. Never looked comfortable faced with Leeds energy and numbers.

Wasteful in possession and indisciplined, failing to give Spurs any sort of midfield platform. In his 50th game for the club, he ultimately looked jaded and in need of a rest.

Involved in many of Spurs’ best moves going forward but still feels almost like a spare part, without a properly defined role.
