Tottenham player ratings vs Man Utd: Kane anonymous in bleak day for Nuno

There were widespread boos and chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” for the manager, as United responded to the humiliation by Liverpool with a convincing win sealed by goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford.

Dan Kilpatrick was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to rate the Spurs players…

Rushed off his line for Cavani’s goal and might have done better, but well beaten by Ronaldo’s stunner and Rashford’s cool finish. Made a flying stop to deny Fred in the first half.

Caught up the pitch for United’s second goal. Got forward enthusiastically but failed to make a real impact in the final third.

Failed to cut out Ronaldo’s pass for Cavani’s goal when he was out of sync with Dier, and caught out of position for Rashford’s strike. Clearly a good player but still getting to grips with the Premier League.

Was lucky that Ronaldo’s second goal was disallowed after failing to cut out the pass and played Cavani onside for the clincher in another erratic showing.

Was presumably picked over the more exciting Sergio Reguilon to help shore up the defence but was caught under Bruno Fernandes’ pass for United’s first goal.

Caught in possession for Ronaldo’s disallowed goal and Cavani’s strike on an afternoon when he looked short of experience at this level.

Played Skipp into trouble for the second goal and for all his energy made no telling contributions.

His substitution was greeted by boos, reflecting a lively showing, but his influence on the game was limited.
