Tottenham are looking to make sure they spend Christmas in the Premier League’s top two as they host Leicester this afternoon.
Last weekend’s draw with Crystal Palace and the midweek defeat to Liverpool have seen some of the momentum behind Spurs’ title push ebb away and Jose Mourinho’s men could even end the weekend outside the top four were they to lose and other results go against them.
However, victory over the Foxes would be a statement of Mourinho’s side’s resilience and would mens Spurs back above Everton into second, closing the gap on defending champions Liverpool to three points.
Mourinho had insisted that the better team lost at Anfield, so he will be desperate for his side to display their title credentials here – even if he insists they are not in the race.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are themselves coming in off the back of a disappointing result, having been beaten 2-0 at home by an Everton side that have returned to form in recent weeks.

Standard Sport prediction: 2-2 draw
Two of the Premier League’s most impressive sides so far this season both come into this one with something of a point to prove.
They’re also two teams renowned for their clinical nature on the break, so even if this is not an open, flowing game, we could see goals.
