Tottenham XI vs Brighton: Confirmed team news and starting lineup

ose Mourinho‘s Tottenham XI  for this evening’s meeting with Brighton almost picked itself after the manager slammed his squad players following Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Royal Antwerp and suggested he would be less inclined to rotate in future.

Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon start at full-back, with the only real question for Mourinho relating to who partners Heung-min and Harry Kane in the front three.

Erik Lamela has been effective from the bench of late and gets the nod while Gareth Bale is still not ready to play 90 minutes, leaving him on the bench along with Lucas Moura.

Tanguy Ndombele was assessed on Friday and Saturday after missing the Europa League tie with muscle fatigue but the Frenchman is deemed fit to start, with Mourinho saying Spurs missed his quick distribution in Belgium.

Dele Alli is omitted from the 18 after being one of four players hooked by Mourinho at half-time on Thursday.

Tottenham lineup (4-3-3): Lloris, Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lamela, Son, Kane

Subs: Hart, Davies, Rodon, Winks, Lo Celso, Bale, Lucas

Date and time: Sunday, November 1, 7:15pm

Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
