Transfer news LIVE! Man Utd want Faivre, Napoli target Tierney

The transfer window has yet to really get going, with few major arrivals in the Premier League as the restrictions and financial implications of the Covid pandemic make doing business tough.

As ever, Manchester United have been linked with a number of players, today’s main one being French U21 international Romain Faivre, while Jadon Sancho has also been talking about the speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

Much of Arsenal’s January window appears to revolve around outgoings as Mikel Arteta looks to clear out his squad. Sead Kolasinac has already departed, but the futures of several other players remain up in the air, none more so than that of Mesut Ozil. However, today there is speculation about a man Arteta will certainly want to keep, with reports that Napoli are still keen on Kieran Tierney.

West Ham’s search for a striker is likely to be a prominent story over the next few weeks, with Sebastian Haller’s departure for Ajax having left Michail Antonio as the Hammers’ only recognised centre-forward.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are set to allow young defender Fikayo Tomori to leave on loan this month, but reports today suggest they’re in no mood to give Aston Villa a bargain in their attempt to make Ross Barkley’s move permanent.

Tomori latest

Here’s more from Frank Lampard on Fikayo Tomori’s situation at Chelsea.

“The situation with Fikayo is open at the moment, in that he could be going on loan to get games. But that will have to be the right decision for him and the club.

“So while I was looking at starting him today, I was also looking at that. And we’ve got to make the right decisions for us for the club and for him.

“His attitude has been fantastic in terms of working, training every day and how he is.”

Chelsea could loan Tomori

Following Chelsea’s 4-0 FA Cup win over Morecambe this afternoon, Frank Lampard has confirmed that defender Fikayo Tomori could go on loan this month.

Fernandinho ‘has Brazilian and European offers’

The agent of Manchester City star Fernandinho has revealed that the midfielder has had a number of offers from Brazilian and European clubs.

Fernandinho is out of contract at the end of the season and is therefore free to negotiate with foreign clubs ahead of a possible free transfer in the summer.

“We’ve received several proposals, good projects from Brazilian and European clubs for Fernandinho. He’s a phenomenal player and person,” he told Globo Esporte.

“I believe it won’t be long before he knows what decision he’ll make. Everyone knows that Fernandinho has a great affection for Athletico [Paranaense, his former club] and the board. I, too, have an excellent relationship with President Mario Celso Petraglia.

“Conversations have always happened, but I can’t go ahead and say that we talk about values, for example. It hasn’t happened yet.

“I confess that it’s difficult to think of Fernandinho returning to Brazil and not playing for Athletico. But we have to wait, it’s a difficult decision, which he has to make with his family.”

Torreira to cut-short Atletico loan?

Earlier on we heard about how Mikel Arteta was reportedly considering an early recall for Matteo Gunedouzi, who has impressed on loan at Hertha Berlin.

Well, according to a report in Mundo Deportivo, another Arsenal midfielder, Lucas Torreira, could also be set for a premature end to his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

Rather than return to the Emirates, however, the report suggest he could head back to Serie A to join Fiorentina.

Hammers linked with Daka

Unsurprisingly, there’s plenty of speculation around today concerning West Ham’s now pressing need for a striker.

The latest name to be linked is RB Leipzig forward Patson Daka, with the Mirror reporting that the Hammers have been offered the chance to sign the Zambian in a £25m deal.

Guendouzi set for Arsenal recall?

Reports in the German press suggest Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guenoduzi could be set for a surprise recall from his loan spell at Hertha Berlin this month.

Guendouzi has impressed since being sent to the Bundesliga for the season, having fallen out of favour under Mikel Arteta, but BILD say the Spaniard may now be ready to find space for him in his plans.

Zidane: I don’t know if Ramos will stay

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted he does not know whether Sergio Ramos will still be at the club by the start of next season, putting a number of Premier League clubs on red alert.

Ramos is now free to negotiate with European clubs, with less than six months to run on his contract.

The Spaniard has been linked with both Manchester City and Tottenham, the latter where he would reunite with former Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, while Liverpool are in need of reinforcements at centre-back and have also been rumoured to be monitoring the situation.

“Are we going to have a Cristiano [Ronaldo] case?” Zidane said. “I don’t know what will happen with Ramos.

“He is here with us at the moment.

“We’re just focused on [Saturday’s] game [against Osasuna].”

Dembele set to join Atletico Madrid

One striker that won’t be heading to West Ham as a Haller replacement is Moussa Dembele.

The former Fulham and Celtic forward was tentatively linked with the Hammers earlier this week, but now looks set to clinch a move to Atletico Madrid instead.

According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, a loan deal is set to be agreed with Lyon that includes the option for Atleti to sign Dembele on a permanent basis in the summer.

Personal terms have reportedly been agreed, with the Frenchman set to undergo a medical.

Atletico had been chasing Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose and Napoli frontman Arkadiusz Milik, per Romano.

Inter Milan eye Lingard loan swoop

Inter Milan want to sign Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard on loan.

That is per The Mirror, who say that the Nerazzurri would first have to offload former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

If he did end up making the move to Italy, Lingard – who had made just two appearances for United this season, both in the Carabao Cup, before starting in the FA Cup win over Watford last night – would join former Old Trafford team-mates Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young at the San Siro.

Everton in talks over King swap deal

Another player that has long been on West Ham’s radar is Josh King.

However, it looks like Everton have stolen a march in the race to sign the Norwegian striker – also linked with West Brom – after entering into talks with Bournemouth over a swap deal.

That is according to The Sun, who say that young Everton defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Jonjoe Kenny are of interest to the Cherries.
