anuary transfer window – LIVE!
We are into the second half of the midseason window we are still yet to see any major moves by any of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with many of them instead focusing on outgoing.
Chelsea epitomise that, having spent big on a host of new stars in the summer, and all the speculation today is over Fikayo Tomori’s proposed loan move to AC Milan and whether or not it will include an option-to-buy, while Danny Drinkwater is finally headed for the exit door. Long-time target Declan Rice is now of interest to Manchester United.
Arsenal are another club with a keener eye on the exit door than the entrance at the moment, with Mesut Ozil expected join Fenerbahce in the coming days after agreeing to terminate his contract, while youngster Folarin Balogun is said to be in talks with potential suitors with less than six months to run on his contract.
Jurgen Klopp has made clear that it is unlikely that Liverpool will sign a centre-back this month despite the Reds’ injury woes but there are rumours linking the Premier League champions with Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, should the Dutchman leave on a free in the summer.

Ozil appears to confirm imminent transfer
Has Ozil finally secured his Arsenal exit?
On Saturday afternoon, Fenerbahce posted song lyrics in Turkish which translate as “come with the day and night”, alongside an hourglass emoji.
Ozil soon quote-tweeted with heart emojis in Fenerbahce’s club colours along with an hourglass of his own. I guess that constitutes flirting on Twitter.
The World Cup winner is expected to complete the move next week, with medical checks coming as soon as Sunday.
IYCMI: Man United battle Chelsea to Rice
Manchester United are willing to go toe-to-toe with Chelsea in the race to sign West Ham star Declan Rice, according to ESPN.
The England international has been heavily linked with a return to Chelsea, the club he left as a teenager, but it appears United may enter the fray in the summer.
The report claims West Ham are still hopeful that their £70million asking price will ward off potential suitors.
Dortmund target Sancho replacement
Borussia Dortmund have identified PSV forward Donyell Malen as a possible replacement for Jadon Sancho, claims Soccer News.
The 21-year-old, who spent two years at Arsenal, and Stuggart youngster Tanguy Coulibaly are on the list ahead of an expected exit for Sancho in the summer.
Tottenham open to Eriksen return
Christian Eriksen’s agents have contacted Tottenham about returning on loan this month and Jose Mourinho is open to the move, Football London reports.
However, a transfer – as it stands – is unlikely due to a number of hurdles; namely squad size, foreign player cap, Dele Alli’s future and the money involved.
Moyes on Rice interest
David Moyes was tonight asked about interest in Declan Rice and looking to bolster his own squad.
“We have had no contact regarding Declan. He is doing great for us. He is a big leader. He is turning out to be a really good player and also a really good boy as well to have around the club.”
He added: “We would like to strengthen if we can but the most important thing is we win the games. If we think there are players out there who can help us get wins then we are interested. Who knows.
“I’d like some pace and someone who can run in behind. Michail gives us that but if we don’t have him through injury we would like that type of striker.
West Ham have made ‘big offers’
West Ham have failed with “big offers” for transfer targets in January, David Moyes has confirmed.
Reims striker Boulaye Dia is a key target, with Arsenal unwilling to let Eddie Nketiah leave. A move to bring Marko Arnautovic back is unlikely due to his wages in China.
“We’ve already made big enquiries and offers for players with clubs,” Moyes told reporters. “They’ve obviously not been accepted otherwise I would have someone.
“It is not as if we’re not trying to do that, we have tried. I need to try and get players who I think would make a difference and I want it to be something which I think can help us.”
Fenerbahce sign a player from London!
So one player from a London club has agreed terms with Fenerbahce. Osayi-Samuel is a loss to QPR, though, and plenty of clubs were tracking him – including Celtic.
Villa eye Sanson
Aston Villa are set to open negotiations with Marseille over Morgan Sanson, reports Telefoot.
Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Fulham have all previously been linked with the former France U21 international in the past as well.
Atletico still want Lacazette
In a rumour that never seems to go away, Spanish outlet AS report that Atletico Madrid remain keen on signing Alexandre Lacazette in the summer, despite having brought in Lyon forward Moussa Dembele this week.
Lacazette was strongly linked with Atletico when he left Lyon to join Arsenal and the speculation has never truly stopped.
The French forward has returned to form in recent weeks but is out of contract at the end of next season, though Mikel Arteta has said the situation will be reviewed in the summer.
Drinkwater finally set for Blues exit
Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is another man apparently headed to Turkey.
The Mail say the former England international, who has made just 23 first-team appearances since joining from Leicester in 2017, is to join Istanbul outfit Kasimpasa on loan until the end of the season.
