Transfer news LIVE! Scamacca to Arsenal as Chelsea target De Ligt deal


The summer transfer window reopens in just three days’ time as clubs in the Premier League and beyond bid to get plenty of early business over the line.

Arsenal are being strongly linked with Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca as well as Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, though face a fight from Manchester City to keep Bukayo Saka.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are trying to wrap up a deal for Scottish sensation Calvin Ramsay and have also entered the race to sign Leeds star Kalvin Phillips, with a further eye on Jude Bellingham.

Mo Salah – as well as Angel Di Maria – could be on his way to Barcelona, with Bayern Munich poised to bid again for top Robert Lewandowski replacement Sadio Mane.

Chelsea are reportedly on the trail of Matthijs de Ligt and Ousmane Dembele, while Manchester United have added Denzel Dumfries to an already extensive list of targets that includes Frenkie de Jong, Jurrien Timber and Darwin Nunez.

Gareth Bale and Paulo Dybala won’t be signing for Tottenham, while Steven Bergwijn has been urged to leave the club with the World Cup looming.

United in for Dumfries

Manchester United are keen on Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.

That is according to Calciomercato, with new United manager attracted by a defender who scored five goals and assisted seven more in his first season in Italy.

Dumfries joined from PSV in a deal worth around £12m last summer.

Chelsea target De Ligt move

Chelsea are eyeing a huge summer move for Matthijs de Ligt, reports claim.

The Blues are prioritising defensive recruits in Todd Boehly’s first transfer window at the club, with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving on free transfers.

They could be followed by the likes of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta, with Thomas Tuchel desperate to bolster his backline and fast.

According to talkSPORT, Juventus centre-back De Ligt is now among their top targets, along with Jules Kounde at Sevilla.

Liverpool in negotiations over Phillips

Staying with Liverpool for a moment, it appears that the Reds have also entered the race for Kalvin Phillips.

Manchester City were already known to be targeting the Leeds star as part of a planned midfield revamp under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

However, Catalan publication Sport suggest that Liverpool have now accepted defeat in their pursuit of Barcelona starlet Gavi, who is due to sign a new contract at the Camp Nou with a bumper release clause.

They claim Jurgen Klopp has now swiftly turned his attentions to Phillips, with negotiations already underway with Leeds.

Calvin Ramsay’s proposed move to Liverpool looks to be progressing.

The Reds have made an early move this summer to secure the future of the Scottish football sensation, who has already made quite an impact at Aberdeen.

The Times report that Liverpool want to tie up a £4m deal for Ramsay this week, with the 18-year-old full-back set to become Trent Alexander-Arnold’s understudy at Anfield.

‘Contact’ over Arsenal striker target Scamacca

Arsenal are firmly on the trail of Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca, reports suggest.

It was claimed in the Italian press last week that the Gunners had seen an initial offer for the player rebuffed by Serie A side Sassuolo.

Now the club’s director Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that transfer contact has been made over Scamacca, who has also been linked with both Milan clubs.

“Our desire is to keep most players in the team, and there is nothing concrete for now,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.

“There have been some contacts with some clubs for Scamacca and others. Perhaps the national team will make the interest grow.”

Spanish daily Sport claims that Barcelona is the only club of interest to the Leeds winger, although a hefty fee will be demanded by the Yorkshire club.
