The summer window is open and clubs are stepping up their efforts to sign and sell players.
Manchester United have finally signed long-time no1 target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, for a ‘fixed transfer fee of £73million’. The young Englishman could be joined at Old Trafford by Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane, while talks are advancing with Rennes over French starlet Eduardo Camavinga.
Manchester City are ready to once again splash the cash as they target huge deals for both Harry Kane and Jack Grealish, though managing to prise the pair away from Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively will prove difficult, with Villa confident of Grealish agreeing fresh terms to stay put.
Arsenal, meanwhile, face a potential fight with Chelsea and Everton for Ben White. Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares is flying in for a medical and Arsenal have made improved offer for Anderlecht star Albert Sambi Lokonga. They have also made an opening bid for Manuel Locatelli and are rumoured to be chasing Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski as well as Leicester’s James Maddison.
Liverpool are believed to be considering an offer for Saul Niguez with Porto’s Otavio and Nicolo Barella of Inter Milan also firmly on the radar as well as a potential battle with Arsenal for Renato Sanches, while Chelsea are rumoured to be pondering an approach for Barcelona outcast Miralem Pjanic after allowing Billy Gilmour to join Norwich on loan.
Tottenham’s transfer activity will step up a gear now Nuno Espirito Santo has been confimed as their new manager and they are trying to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna. Nuno reportedly wants to meet Kane for talks over his future before the striker goes on holiday after Euro 2020.
Lionel Messi’s future also remains unresolved with PSG linked with an audacious deal after his Barcelona contract expired, with Sergio Ramos also reportedly on his way to Paris.

Man United in Camavinga talks
Manchester United are actively trying to sign Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga, reports suggest.
It was speculated last month that United would turn their attentions to the French teenager after finally getting a deal for long-time no1 target Jadon Sancho over the line.
That now appears to be the case, with Fabrizio Romano reporting late on Sunday night that the Red Devils are progressing in direct contacts to try and sign Camavinga, though face rival interest from PSG.
Rennes would supposedly be willing to discuss a potential fee of around €30m to avoid losing the highly-rated midfielder for free next summer, when his current contract at Roazhon Park expires.
Paratici: Pogba to Juventus ‘very difficult’
Before joining Tottenham last month, Paratici spent a total of 11 years at Juventus.
In that same Sky Sport interview, the Italian appears to have poured cold water on a potential return to Turin for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
“I think it is very difficult, there has never been a moment in which we have been close to taking him back,” Paratici said.
Paratici speaks on Kane future
Tottenham’s new managing director of football Fabio Paratici has been speaking to Sky Sport in Italy, reaffirming Spurs’ desire to keep hold of Harry Kane this summer despite the England captain’s wish to leave in pursuit of major silverware and interest in his services from the likes of Manchester City.
“We want to keep Harry Kane at Tottenham, it’s our goal,” said former Juventus CFO Paratici.
“I’ve been lucky to see many top players at Juventus and I want to enjoy Harry Kane too. He’s one of the best strikers in the world.”
He added: “I’ve not had any conversation with Harry Kane yet – just because I don’t want to disturb our players during the Euros. He’s an incredible striker.”
Chelsea to rival Arsenal for Ben White?
Are Chelsea set to battle Arsenal for the signing of Ben White?
Arsenal were in advanced talks over a deal for the Brighton defender – currently with England at Euro 2020 – last week, but they have yet to reach an agreement.
There were reports on Friday that Everton were trying to gazump the Gunners at the 11th hour in the race for White, having submitted a better offer worth a total of around £50m.
Now reports cited by the Daily Express suggest that Chelsea are also interested in signing White this summer.
Konate set for Liverpool arrival
Liverpool fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of new signing Ibrahima Konate don’t have much longer to go.
The Reds completed a £36m deal to sign the highly-rated French centre-back from Bundesliga side RB Leizpig back in May.
Konate was expected to be given an extended break after being part of the France squad for the Under-21 European Championship knockouts, though a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of that tournament means he has not played since May.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, the 22-year-old will be among the first group of players to report back for the start of pre-season training at Kirby on July 12.
Guendouzi lands in Marseille
Speaking of Arsenal, there are plenty of pictures circulating on social media this evening of Matteo Guendouzi arriving in Marseille and posing with a man who is wearing a club shirt and brandishing an OM scarf.
You would expect that mooted season-long loan deal – that reportedly includes an obligation for Marseille to buy the French midfielder next summer – to become official very soon.
Odegaard says Arsenal goodbye
Arsenal’s hopes of re-signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid this summer seem to be over.
The Norwegian playmaker impressed on loan in north London during the second half of last season, with Mikel Arteta keen to secure his return for the 2021/22 campaign.
However, Odegaard has a chance to prove himself back in the Spanish capital under new manager Carlo Ancelotti and has now said his farewells to Arsenal in a heartfelt message on social media, seemingly signifying that he will not be back as hoped.
“Arsenal, thank you so much for these six months,” the 22-year-old wrote on Instagram.
“My time with the Arsenal family will always hold a special place in my heart.
“I want to thank everyone in and around the club for the way you made me feel like a part of the family since the first day.
“Special thanks to the fans, even without you guys at the stadium for the majority of the season, I felt you with me at all times.
“A huge thank you to the boss and his staff for everything I’ve learned during my stay.
“Thank you also to all my teammates for such a great time on and off the pitch. Will miss you all.
“Thank you, Gunners family. Always in my heart.”
Lokonga latest as Arsenal chase deal
Arsenal are still yet to get a deal for Albert Sambi Lokonga over the line.
Standard Sport reported earlier this week that the Gunners were confident of signing the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder, with the latest negotiations with Anderlecht understood to be progressing well after an original offer worth £13m was rejected last month.
It is thought that Lokonga is keen to move to Arsenal and there is confidence among all parties that a deal will get done this summer.
However, it’s clearly not over just yet, with the player – who was on Belgium’s standby list for Euro 2020 – this weekend named by Anderlecht in a 38-man squad to embark upon a six-day pre-season training camp in Alkmaar that will feature two friendlies against Eredivisie sides AZ and Utrecht.
Vlahovic to snub Tottenham interest?
It seems that Tottenham are destined for disappointment in their hopes of signing Dusan Vlahovic.
Spurs have been linked with the highly-rated 21-year-old Serbian striker, who has impressed in Serie A for Fiorentina after joining from Partizan Belgrade in 2018.
However, Corriere dello Sport now report that Vlahovic wants to sign a new contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, where has scored 29 goals in 84 appearances to date.
Guendouzi to France
Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is closing in on a move to French side Marseille, report Goal.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Hertha Berlin after falling out of Mikel Arteta’s plans.
Gunners defender William Saliba could also be set to join the club on loan.
