The summer transfer window is in full swing as we enter August, with Europe’s top clubs stepping up their efforts to sign and sell players.
Paul Pogba could be on the move though, but could delay his decision beyond this summer. PSG want him, while Mino Raiola has reportedly offered Pogba to Liverpool… cheeky. Should Pogba leave United, then Saul Niguez is a reported target – but Liverpool are also said to be interested.
Arsenal have made one big move in £50m Ben White, and want another in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. Hector Bellerin could be used as a makeweight, but Tottenham are said to also be interested should they sell Harry Kane to Manchester City… and Jack Grealish is expected to move to the Etihad for £100m.
Chelsea want Haaland or Romelu Lukaku to lead their attack, with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde their preference for a defender.
As for Liverpool, Manuel Locatelli, Youri Tielemans and Nicolo Barella are all targets with Jordan Henderson’s future unclear, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new four-year deal at Anfield.

Was Mauricio Pochettino ever close to returning to Tottenham? Perhaps not…
He stated: “There were a lot of rumours. We all know what the reality of football is. There are moves between clubs, involving players and managers, so the rumours are always there.
“I’ve always maintained a calm, fluid relationship with the president and with Leonardo. Things were always clear, there was no reason to say anything more.”

ICYMI: Saul Niguez agents in UK
Saul Niguez’s next move looks likely to be decided at some point soon.
According to The Mirror, representatives of the Atletico Madrid and Spain midfielder have flown into England in an attempt to resolve their client’s future.
Just about every major club in the Premier League has been linked with Saul at some point over recent months, but particularly Manchester United and Liverpool.
Villa to sign Bailey
Aston Villa on Saturday agreed a deal to sign Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old will now discuss personal terms and complete a medical after of finalising a £30m deal.
Bailey’s arrival is understood to not be connected with Jack Grealish’s expected departure.
Palace want Nelson
Crystal Palace are looking to bring Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson in on loan, reports the Sun.
Fresh from bringing in Callum Gallagher from Chelsea, new Palace manager Patrick Vieira will look to use his Gunners connections to sort a deal for the 21-year-old.
Arsenal AND Tottenham want Lautaro Martinez
Arsenal have indeed lodged inquiries with Inter Milan over Lautaro Martinez.
Reports that the Gunners were making an ambitious attempt to sign the Argentine forward first emerged last week.
Now The Athletic say Arsenal have asked about Lautaro during conversations with reigning Serie A champions Inter as the latter try to strike a deal for right-back Hector Bellerin.
Crucially, it is said that Lautaro would be open to joining Arsenal, while Tottenham are mentioned as potential rival suitors for the 23-year-old if Harry Kane does leave this summer.
Romero to Spurs latest
Tottenham are taking another step closer to signing defender Cristian Romero, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The player is pushing to join Spurs and is due back to Atalanta on Monday.
The Serie A side are expected to grant Romero’s wish, with Spurs bidding €50m for the player.
‘Kane wants Man City move’
Given the fees involved in any potential deal, the Harry Kane transfer saga does not seem likely to be resolved quickly.
We understand Kane wants to leave Tottenham and Man City are keen on signing the England captain, though he would cost well over £100m – and potentially £150m.
City are set to spend £100m on Jack Grealish, so it remains to be seen whether the Premier League champions have enough money left over for the Spurs star as well.
According to the Telegraph, Kane is set for talks with Spurs next week and will insist he wants to follow Grealish to Manchester – so that nine-figure transfer could well be on…
Saul to Man Utd or Liverpool?
As we said earlier, Saul Niguez’s agents are reportedly heading to the UK to attempt to seal a transfer – but where will he end up?
Manchester United have been linked with the Atletico Madrid midfielder for two years now, and he could be an option if the Red Devils end up selling Paul Pogba to PSG.
Liverpool are also said to be interested as well though: with Gini Wijnaldum leaving for PSG on a free and Jordan Henderson’s future unclear, Jurgen Klopp could be on the lookout for a top-quality midfielder.
The reported presence of Saul’s representatives in the UK suggests they expect this saga to run and run as both clubs plan for the new season.
