Favre pulls out of Crystal Palace deal
In case you missed it last night, it seems that Lucien Favre won’t be taking the managerial reins at Crystal Palace after all.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss, 63, was due to sign a three-year contract at Selhurst Park yesterday to become the successor to Roy Hodgson, only to reportedly pull out at the 11th hour after deciding he wasn’t ready to return to the rigours of top-level management.

Palace also saw talks break down with ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo last month.
Grealish camp confident over £100m Man City move
Plenty more reports circulating this morning regarding the future of England star Jack Grealish, who has been strongly linked with both Chelsea and Manchester City over recent weeks.
The Athletic suggest that Aston Villa are confident they will be able to keep hold of their influential captain this summer, with his current contract – only signed last September – still having four years left to run.
However, The Sun claim that Grealish’s camp believe they have secured the green light for their man to move to Man City in a mammoth £100m deal after the European Championship – a new British transfer record.
Liverpool open talks over Malen deal
There’s reportedly action at Anfield too concerning Liverpool’s interest in Donyell Malen.
Sky Sport Germany claim that the Reds have now opened talks over a deal for the PSV Eindhoven star, who could cost around £34m.
Former Arsenal youngster Malen hit 27 goals for PSV across all competitions last term and has been linked with a possible return to north London.
He is currently away at the Euros with the Netherlands, making substitute appearances against Ukraine and Austria before starting the 3-0 win over North Macedonia in Amsterdam.
The Dutch next face the Czech Republic in the last 16 in Budapest on Sunday.
Arsenal in ‘advanced talks’ over £50m White deal
Arsenal are seemingly edging closer to the signing of Brighton defender Ben White.
Per Sky Sports, the Gunners are in advanced talks over a deal for the highly-rated England defender that could be worth more than £50m.
The report adds that the clubs remain apart on the fee and how the overall deal will be structured, but that all sides are optimistic that an agreement can be struck.
White has impressed with his performances in central defence both for Brighton and during a loan spell at Leeds – who tried to sign him permanently – in 2019/20.
He has also attracted attention from the likes of Liverpool and was drafted into Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man Euro 2020 squad as a replacement for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold after originally being cut from England’s expanded 33-man group.

ICYMI: Man Utd expect to sign Sancho
Manchester United are already planning for life with Jadon Sancho after lodging a second bid worth £72m for the England international.
That is still £5m below Borussia Dortmund’s asking price, but there is confidence on all sides that a deal will be done – two years after United first identified him as a target.
With Sancho’s camp happy with personal terms that were on the table last year, it is now a case of agreeing the finer details of the overall package.
Dortmund are believed to want around £4m in add-ons to get the deal over the line, with Sancho’s heart set on the move.
United are already much further ahead in their pursuit of Sancho than they were last year when their refusal to meet Dortmund’s asking price of more than £100m saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer miss out on his top target.
