Francesco Baracca
Open Secret is winless in ten starts for trainer Charlie Johnston and he’s now opting for jockey Oisin Murphy as the Cracksman colt could finally be down to a handy mark.
That said, he’s not really been in touch with the field in his last four starts but has gone well on occasion; just two lengths off Tactician in June and only a length away on seasonal debut on his last all-weather start.
He’s tough to back though and it makes Francesco Baracca appeal much more.
The brown gelding by Golden Horn has gone well since stepping up to 1m4f two starts ago; when a close 4th at Kempton before winning next time out.
He’s been upped 4lb for that success but ought to keep improving with that wind surgery in June also looking like it’s taken full effect.
Caballo De Mar could pose a danger with the amount of weight given away but has only been dropped 1lb and doesn’t get the benefit of a claimer on board this time, so is also tough to back.
Islanova
Islanova has Ryan Moore on board this time and steps up to 1m2f for the first time.
That’s got to suit the Frankel filly and the Cheveley Park owned three-year-old has gone close before to suggest she can go close again, each-way at least.
