US Open winners to bank record-breaking sum as prize money increased for 2024

The winners of this year’s men’s and women’s singles at the US Open are set to pocket millions in prize money.

The year’s final grand slam comes to a close this weekend, and there will be a few people leaving as significantly richer individuals.

Both Coco Gauff and Novak Djokovic pocketed the riches last year, but neither will be victorious again after suffering shock early exits.

The pair were the defending champions in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively, but there will be two new names earning the glory in New York.

In the women’s final, Jessica Pegula takes on Aryna Sabalenka.

In the men’s, it’s Jannik Sinner facing Taylor Fritz.

US Open 2024: Prize money

The 2024 US Open will see a new all-time high fee paid out across the tournament.

A total of $75 million dollars will be distributed to players at this edition of the US Open, which is a huge increase on the $65 million from last year.

The prize for the winners of the men’s and women’s singles has also massively increased from $3 million to $3.6 million each.

Whoever is runner-up will take home $1.8 million, and the two losing semi-finalists will also claim a whopping one million dollars.

In the men’s and women’s doubles, winners claim $750,000, and in the mixed doubles, the victorious duo get $200,000.

To put this into context, the winning pair in the mixed doubles will receive less than singles players who make the last 32.

The full prize money can be found here.
