Value Scope’s Steve Jones finds 20-1 and 12-1 selections for Saturday cards

Four picks at each-way prices for our tipster on Saturday, November 6. He has found bets at Wincanton and Doncaster – including the Virgin Bet November Handicap

Steve Jones’ Value Scope column for Saturday, November 6

Step out with the Belle of the ball on Wincanton’s big day.

BELLE DE MANECH (2.25) looks well weighted on her form from early last season in the Richard Barber Memorial Mares’ Hurdle.

She handed out a beating to Rose Of Arcadia at this course on Boxing Day having been unlucky not to finish a lot closer than fourth in a good maiden hurdle on her previous run.

Her Fontwell second behind useful Allavina was another good effort before her form tailed off.

She’s had a breathing operation over the summer and, if that’s worked, she could easily take this off her low weight. Have 2pts each-way at 12-1.

The big race on the card, the Badger Beer Chase, looks a cracking contest.

I wouldn’t put anyone off last year’s winner El Presente at around 10-1 but I can’t resist having a few quid on DOUBLE SHUFFLE (3.00) at twice those odds.

He loves good ground on flat, right-handed tracks so he gets his perfect conditions today.

Tom George’s veteran – runner-up in the 2017 King George – showed he was still capable of smart form last season and he’ll sharpen up a lot for his recent comeback run. Have 1pt each-way at 20-1 with several firms paying out on five places.

The ground will be a lot softer at Doncaster for the last turf Flat meeting of the season.

PRINCE ALEX (2.40) will love those conditions in the Virgin Bet November Handicap.

Michael Bell’s hope stays further than this 1m4f trip but he has the gears for this kind of test.

He hasn’t had his ground since winning at Goodwood in July so the 28-1 on offer is way too big. Have 1pt each-way with several firms paying out on seven places.

Earlier on the card at Doncaster, YOUNG FIRE (1.25) is worth supporting.

He was sixth in this race 12 months ago when it didn’t really set up for him but it should be a different story this time.

Fortune hasn’t smiled on him too often this season and he was out of his depth in a Listed race last time.

David O’Meara’s mud-lover should get a nice pace to aim at and that makes him dangerous. Have 1pt each-way at 20-1.
