West Ham vs Doncaster: FA Cup fourth round – LIVE!

The Hammers are today aiming to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time in five years.

Defeats to the likes of West Brom, AFC Wimbledon and Wigan in recent years have frustrated the locals, but there is confidence of a building Cup run in east London.

Doncaster, though, have been known for a cupset or two down the years and should not be taken lightly, but will be making a rare foray deeper into the competition with victory at the London Stadium.

David Moyes is expected to show the League One side respect with a strong line-up, though youngster Ademipo Odubeko could be afforded a chance to impress.

The winner this afternoon will set up a date with either Manchester United or Liverpool, who face off at Old Trafford tomorrow, for a place in the quarter-finals.

48 mins: No change in the pattern early on as Benrahma tests Balcombe with a free-kick, which may have been creeping wide, but the ‘keeper palms it away anyway.

The teams are back out at the London Stadium. Just another professional display needed in the second half…

A really professional display from the Hammers in that first half. Plenty of energy and they’ve hardly been troubled at the back while Yarmolenko has lead the line well with Antonio given a rest. Odd for West Ham fans to feel quite so comfortable.

HALF-TIME | West Ham 2-0 Doncaster

An absolute breeze for David Moyes’ men so far.

42 mins: Last few minutes of the half and Doncaster would probably be happy to get to half-time at 2-0.

37 mins: Just about Lukasz Fabianski’s first bit of work as a free-kick from the right isn’t cleared and Joe Wright flicks it goalwards but he can’t generate any power and the Pole claims easily.

Benrahma is desperate to impress today and that assist will certainly have helped. Moyes has been calling for him to do more in the final third and that ball through for Yarmolenko, after he did well to keep things going after losing the ball, was weighted perfectly. Smart finish to double the lead, too.

GOAL! | West Ham 2-0 Doncaster| Andriy Yarmolenko 32’

To say it’s been coming would be an understatement. This is another excellent finish, Yarmolenko lifting coolly over the ‘keeper after being slipped in by Benrahma and already West Ham have one foot in round five.

30 mins: More last ditch stuff as Doncaster are scythed open again by Yarmolenko’s pass to Benrahma but the Algerian’s cut-back is booted clear.

Moments later Benrahma has a pop from range but it’s straight at his former Brentford teammate Balcombe in the Rovers goal.
