Who will be King or Queen of the Castle at I’m a Celebrity 2020?

Surely you didn’t expect a global pandemic to halt I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, did you?

The 20th edition of the wildly popular reality TV show couldn’t be staged in its usual venue of the Australian jungle.

So organisers have switched to Gwyrch Castle in North Wales.

It will be darker, colder – and there will ‘probably’ be less creepy crawlies in camp. Only probably mind.

But it will still be a test for the 10 celebrities vying to be King or Queen of the Castle.

So who’s going to win?

There have been 11 Kings of the Jungle and eight Queens in the 19 shows so far.

But in recent years there has been a female takeover – the only male winner in the last five years was Harry Redknapp.

But it’s a an unpredictable business – which is why the nation loves a flutter on the show. Here’s what bookies make of the latest show.

I’m A Celebrity 2020 Betting

(E/W pays 1/5 the odds for first three places)

Shane Richie 10/3

Eastenders’ Alfie Moon, Shane has presented several BBC game shows and is a regular on the Christmas panto circuit. His clean cut likeability has seen him installed as an early favourite. If you think Shane can strike it Rich, bet here:

Giovanna Fletcher 7/2

An actress, podcaster and author – Giovanna is also the wife of McFly star Tom Fletcher. But will that endear her to the legions of McFly fans out there? Or count against her? If you want to Gio track Mrs Fletcher, bet here :

Jordan North 4/1

A Radio 1 DJ from Lancashire, Jordan has also co-presented the comedy-agony-aunt podcast ‘Help I Sexted My Boss’. Apparently his phobia of snakes is so deep rooted he can’t even watch them in films. Cue a Bush Tucker Trial where he gets buried in a snake pit. If that makes you laugh Hisssssterically and you want to back Jordan, bet here:

Mo Farah 9/2

Quite simply the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic history. It’s just as well he can shift because Sir Mo has a phobia of “any animal that moves.” But if you’re backing him to Far, bet here:

Vernon Kay 6/1

While the Bolton-born TV presenter will be on the ITV screens every night, wife Tess Daly will be battling for viewers on the other side as host of Strictly Come Dancing. Fans of Special Kay can bet here:

AJ Pritchard 9/1

AJ joins a long line of Strictly Come Dancing stars Ola Jordan, James Jordan, Brendan Cole and Vincent Simone, who’ve all taken part in the popular survival reality show. With youth, charm and cuteness on his side, he could prove a live outsider. If you think AJ will be A-OK bet here:

AJ Pritchard … a live outsider for I’m A Celebrity 2020?

Jessica Plummer 11/1

Former Eastenders star Jessica played the role of hairdresser Chantelle – and claims to suffer from arachnophobia. Could be an issue. But if you’re after a Plum draw, bet here:

Hollie Arnold 20/1

This Grimsby-born athlete won gold at the F46 javelin event at the Rio Paralympics four years ago. If you think she could throw in a long shot in North Wales, bet here:

Hollie Arnold at the World Championship team trials in 2017

Beverley Callard 20/1

Another soap actress, Bev played Liz McDonald on Coronation Street for years. If you think she could Weather the Welsh storm and cobble a win together (see what we did there?) bet here:

Victoria Derbyshire 33/1

Formerly the host of the Victoria Derbyshire Show – obviously – Victoria has presented a number of serious news-themed shows on the BBC. She’s a rank outsider, but so were the first three places at this year’s Epsom Derby. If you fancy another Derby outsider – bet here:
