WWE legend ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan has announced he has prostate cancer after revealing the news on Instagram earlier today.

A brave Duggan took to his social media to share his diagnosis in a video alongside wife Debra.

In the powerful video the wrestling star revealed that he has known about the cancer for ‘months’, and is set to undergo surgery to treat the illness this Friday at MUSC hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.

In the heartbreaking post the 67-year-old said: “Hi folks, you know Debra and I always share the good times with you but today we’ve got to share some bad times.

Jim Duggan took to Instagram to release the news.

“I’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer and I’m having my surgery tomorrow. Actually it has been going on for a couple of months now, and Debra and I have been living with it and getting ready.

“But reality is here and I am going down to Charleston tomorrow to have my cancer surgery.”

The wrestling legend also went on to ask for the hopes and prayers of his fans as he heads into surgery, adding that he would now be taking a break from his social media.

“So folks I know you have been thinking and praying about me for this last surgery, please think of me this Friday as I go in for my cancer surgery in Charleston.

“Debra will keep everyone updated but I’m gonna take a break from social media.

“Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, and see you down the road with the grace of god and the skill of daughters. Love ya.”

As Duggan mentioned, this will not be the first time he has been under the operator’s needle after he was rushed into emergency surgery last week.

As a result, wife Debra took to the wrestling veteran’s Instagram to share his most recent hospital trip as she posted: “After 2 nights in the hospital and emergency surgery yesterday, guess who just came home?

“Thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses at Kershaw County Medical Center which is now, MUSC.

Jim Duggan was rushed to hospital last week.

“Thanks to Brittani for wheeling Jim out! Thank you for your prayers, vibes, texts, calls and messages. Now home to fully recuperate.”

The WWE Hall of Famer has endured further difficulties with his health in recent years, having been admitted into intensive care in 2018, after his heart fell into AFib, more commonly known as an irregular heartbeat.

He then returned a year later in 2019, and underwent surgery on his heart.
