It’s the fourth and final day of the 2021 Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival. After some big-priced winners this week, fans are hoping to get the Ebor right
After a tricky week of results on the Knavesmire, racing fans are hoping the well-backed favourite can deliver in the Sky Bet Ebor.
The Willie Mullins-trained Mt Leinster has shortened markedly in price to top the market for the £500,000 handicap.
Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: “We’ve seen a big plunge on Mt Leinster who was 11-1 on Friday morning and has now more than halved in price into 5-1 favourite. He’s definitely our worst result by a fair margin.”
The Irish raider took over from William Haggas’ Hamish at the head of the betting, another big mover ahead of the feature at 3.35.
The stats do not favour the favourites, with seven of the last ten renewals won by horses starting at odds of 11-1 or greater.
Newsboy’s pick Mirann, trained by Johnny Murtagh who celebrated success in the 2014 renewal, is priced at around 10-1.
