Jamie Nyland, 24, from Gloucestershire, who has over 2.3 million followers on TikTok, shared a clip earlier this week surprising his father Richard with the news he had bought his home.
In the video, Jamie walked into his father’s bedroom and threw him the keys to the house, saying: ‘I’ve just paid off your mortgage. I’ve just rung the bank and paid off every single penny left on your mortgage.’
Richard was left in floods of tears by the moving gesture, with other social media users praising Jamie as ‘so loving and respectful.’

In the clip, Jamie waved the keys at the camera before walking into his father’s bedroom and tossing them to him.
In response, his dad said: ‘Why did you give me them for?’
Jamie told him he had ‘just paid off the mortgage’, adding: ‘You now own this whole house. I swear. You’ve worked your whole life so now you can actually retire.’
His father shook his head, repeating the word ‘no’, while Jamie tried to convince him it was the truth.
In a clip shared to the social media platform, Richard broke down in tears and called Jamie ‘the best son in the world’
When it dawned on him that his son was being serious, he broke down in tears, wiping his face softly.
He insisted he couldn’t accept the gesture, but Jamie told him: ‘I’ve already done it.’
Richard added: ‘You’re the best son in the world you can have.’
Meanwhile he went on to hand the keys back to his son, saying: ‘It’s in the will. The house is yours – what’s mine is yours.’
Initially Richard was stunned after his son dropped his house keys into the palm of his hand, and remained baffled after his son initially told him the news
He continued: ‘I love you so much. You paid off my mortgage, I’ve put you in my will. You retire me for life so I’ve set you up for life.’
The video ended with the father and son hugging, with Jamie captioning it: ‘I love you Dad.’
In a later comment, Jamie clarified he was able to afford the mortgage after ‘doing Vine for four years and YouTube for 10 years’, adding: ‘It has been my only goal.’
The touching clip has since been viewed over a million times on the social media platform, with many praising Jamie for the generous move.
