Met Police DROPS investigation into Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein committing alleged sex crimes in London

  • Police will be taking ‘no further action’ into alleged crimes of Prince Andrew
  • Force said it had conducted two reviews and had reviewed recent material
  • Duke of York, 61, is being sued in New York by Virginia Giuffre, now 38

The Metropolitan Police will be taking ‘no further action’ into allegations Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein committed sex crimes in the UK, it has been revealed.

The force said after conducting two reviews and reviewing recent material into multiple claims that young women had been groomed or abused on UK soil by the royal and Epstein they would be dropping their investigation.

It comes after it was revealed the Duke of York’s legal team will be allowed to review a previously secret settlement which his lawyers hope will shield him from a sex abuse lawsuit by Virginia Giuffre.

The Met have now said that they will continue to liaise with other law enforcement agencies who are leading the investigation into Epstein.

However they have not detailed which agencies they are.

This week it was revealed that Prince Andrew’s legal team will be allowed to review a previously secret settlement.

A US District Judge granted permission for the Duke of York’s lawyers to receive a copy of a confidential agreement between the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre.

Ms Giuffre, 38, is launching a US civil case against Prince Andrew, accusing him of sexually abusing her two decades ago.

The 61-year-old royal, who is not facing any criminal charges, ‘categorically’ denies Ms Giuffre’s claims against him.

Ms Giuffre, who has also accused Epstein of abuse, signed a settlement deal with the financier in 2009 as part of a Florida state case – to which the duke was not a party.

The deal between her and Esptein, who died in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges, has remained confidential.
