The pair’s outing also came just days after Susanna failed to reference her romance with Steve during an interview with the Crystal Palace chairman on Good Morning Britain, with many fans taking to Twitter to poke fun at the ‘awkward’ encounter.

The breakfast TV star was then seen heading back to her car with her former beau before they drove off together, clearly still on friendly terms following their split last year.

Given the Covid pandemic, Susanna and Steve were seated outside for their dinner at the swanky eatery, which boasts a coveted Michelin star and an ever-changing seasonal menu.

While Susanna was keen to hear Steve’s take on the topic in light of the fact all six English clubs who were slated to join the league have now drawn, viewers more interested in the dating history between the pair.

‘We have to remember that these things were dreamed up by people, not by football clubs. ‘What we’ve got to do now is try and start a healing process and find a way forward.’

The Chairman of Crystal Palace echoed his sentiments on Wednesday’s BBC Breakfast where he branded the Premier League’s Big Six’s efforts to form a European Super League as an attempt ‘to steal football’.

Susanna first went public with Steve back in November 2018 when they were pictured at a Crystal Palace v Chelsea match.

A friend told The Sun at the time: ‘They have known each other for several years through their connections to Palace.’

Piers highlighted the split at the time during a GMB appearance, and Susanna said: ‘Let’s not dwell. I’m fine, we’re fine, we were at the match on Saturday.

She added: ‘These things happen right, we remain friends. Very good friends.’

Then the pair were seen having dinner together last summer, suggesting the romance may be back on.

A source said at the time: ‘They looked totally into each other. If ever it was in doubt whether they were an item again, this shows they are.

‘Steve had his arms protectively around Susanna and tenderly planted a kiss on her head at one point before they flagged a cab.’

Susanna has said in the past: ‘It’s not a secret, but it’s private.’

In 2014, Susanna split from journalist Dominic Cotton, the father of her three teenage sons – after a 16 year relationship.

They share sons Sam, 19, Finn, 17, and Jack, 16, with her ex Dominic Cotton.

In November, the Croydon native spoke about her love life, insisting she will never marry after her previous split from Steve.

Her GMB co-host Piers Morgan asked her: ‘Are you single again? You are aren’t you?’, to which an upbeat Susanna replied: ‘Yep. Let’s not dwell. I’m fine, we’re fine, we’re very good friends. We were at the match on Saturday.

‘I know one of the things you’re most devastated with my split, is the fact you will no longer have access to the wine cellar,’ she added before presenting her friend with three bottles of Crystal Palace wine to ‘commemorate the epic occasion of Palace beating Arsenal.’

‘Steve let’s make this clear, you’ve broken up with Susanna and not me,’ Piers, 55, joked. ‘Your wine cellar remains a very important part of my life.’

‘I think it’s nice that you guys went to the football… these things happen right,’ he continued. ‘They do,’ agreed Susanna. ‘And we remain friends.’
