Time Magazine 100 ’emerging leaders’ list features Marcus Rashford

Rishi Sunak and Marcus Rashford have been included in Time magazine’s list of 100 young ’emerging leaders’ alongside other stars such as Dua Lipa and Florence Pugh.

Time magazine launched the 100 Next list in 2019 to shine a spotlight on 100 rising stars who are shaping the future of ‘business, entertainment, sports, politics, science, health’ and other areas.

This year, Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak, 40, and Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford, 23, have been included on the list.

A profile was written to accompany each of the members of Time’s 100 emerging leaders, many of which have been written by alumni of the magazine’s 100 list.

Although his profile acknowledges that Sunak bears more responsibility than most for his calls to ease lockdown restrictions, Time’s profile for the Chancellor admits he has earned himself a ‘legion of fans’.

Sunak’s accompanying profile points to a YouGov poll showing him to be the nation’s most popular politician and even tips him to be the bookmakers’ favourite as the next Prime Minister.
