California COVID patient beats his roommate, 82, to death with an oxygen tank in a hospital’s virus unit

  • A man allegedly killed his roommate with an oxygen tank in a California hospital

A COVID-19 patient allegedly beat to death his roommate with an oxygen tank inside a California hospital last week. 

According to ABC 7, the murder occurred on December 17 at the Antelope Valley Hospital.

Investigators said the two men were sharing a room in the COVID-19 unit of the hospital when the attacker beat the 82-year-old man to death with an oxygen tank.

Authorities said the victim, who has not been identified, died a day after the attack. Police said the two men were strangers to one another.  

Officials are still investigating the murder and have not released a motive for the attack.  

The suspect was arrested and charged with murder. His name has not been released. 

A DailyMail.com request for comment to the hospital wasn’t immediately returned on Wednesday afternoon.
