The Veronicas singer Jessica Origliasso has split from American musician fiancé Kai Carlton. 

The 35-year-old announced their engagement was over via Instagram Stories on Monday morning.

Jessica told fans she ‘was not afforded any real explanation’ for their separation, and wished to put the relationship ‘behind her’.

The pair have been living apart for close to eight months amid COVID-19 travel restrictions – with Kai residing in Los Angeles, and Jessica based in Brisbane.

‘To all the souls messaging me about Kai – we are no longer together,’ she began the lengthy update to fans.

‘I was not afforded any real explanation to address this with clarity here,’ Jessica added, hinting that she was dumped by her former tattooed lover. 

‘While I appreciate your concern, as much of our relationship was on social media, I don’t know what to say except that I wish to put this behind me, and I’m lucky to have people who love me to support me through this time x.’

‘Thank you for your ongoing love,’ the Untouched hit-maker concluded the emotional upload. 

The pair are no longer following each other on social media, and Jessica has removed all past Instagram photos of their loved-up memories from her grid.

Jessica announced her engagement to American musician Kai just shy of one year ago on 31 October, 2019. 

Kai proposed at a luxurious resort in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, with Australian-born singer-songwriter Jessica sharing the exciting news with her legions of followers on Instagram at the time.

In July, Jessica spoke about how their physical separation amid the global coronavirus pandemic had impacted their relationship.

‘Even though we are engaged, we won’t be able to see each other until the borders are open again because of the government restrictions,’ she explained, but confirmed: ‘we are doing amazing and I’ve got the family through all of this.’

In August, Kai shared a loving tribute to Jessica amid their long-distance engagement: ‘Its been almost 6 months, 3 travel applications, hundreds of FaceTimes, and thousands of texts since. Though the times have been tough and trying, there is no one I appreciate, love and admire more in these times than you.’

However, their relationship appeared to weaken over the past few weeks, with eagle-eyed fans noticing less mentions by the couple, and their photos being deleted. 

Prior to her romance with Kai, Jessica dated Australian actress and DJ, Ruby Rose.

Potentially keeping her busy amid the breakup, Jessica and twin sister Lisa have been filming Channel Seven’s reboot of The Celebrity Apprentice in Sydney. 

The pop duo have also been attending sexy pole dancing classes and sharing videos of their routines online. 

Kai has yet to address the split on social media.
