The mother told police that her baby was in the car when the vehicle was stolen in the 300 block of Sunnyside.

Police said the mother had tried to track an iPhone that was in the vehicle with hopes of finding her child.

Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s home showed at least six cars passed by the baby in the span of 22 minutes before Flores came along.

‘It showed the baby getting dropped off, and the baby was there for about 20 minutes, and there were about six vehicles that drove by, and nobody saw,’ Mirna Garcia said.

‘It was also trash day that day, so we wouldn’t have realized something was there on the corner.’

Authorities said they are still searching for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.

The Houston Police Department is asking the public to call (713) 884-3131 if they have any information that would help identify the driver.
