Let me in! Baffled border terrier Cookie waits patiently outside until he finally realises glass door is OPEN

  • Sarah Watson, 25, from Scotland, shared video of deaf dog Cookie on Monday
  • He sits outside open glass door while believing the sliding entranceway is shut
  • Cookie eventually tumbles inside when he goes to lean on the glass and falls in

This is the moment an elderly border terrier waits patiently outside an open glass door – until he finally realises the entryway is open when he tumbles inside.

The clip, posted to TikTok on Monday, captures Cookie as he sits outside an open sliding glass door – which the confused pooch believes is closed.

He peers in at owner Sarah Watson, 25, while raising a paw to get attention, before taking a tumble into the house when he goes to lean on the non-existent glass.

Cookie, 15, eventually makes his way into the property after being encouraged by those watching, who go to greet the baffled border terrier upon his grand entrance.

In the caption of the video, Ms Watson, from Scotland, said: ‘Remembering when my old deaf dog thought the back door was shut and didn’t realise until he fell through it.’

The video, which has been liked more than 900,000 times, has since received thousands of comments from newfound fans of the elderly pup.

One woman said: ‘I just know he was embarrassed.’

Another added: ‘GIVE HIM A CUDDLE RIGHT NOW,’ to which Ms Watson assured them: ‘He got all the cuddles in the world right after it.’

Others admitted they felt bad for laughing at the confused dog, who Ms Watson said is deaf. She explained in a reply that she communicates with Cookie with gestures.

Responding to the short clip, one commenter said: ‘That’s a dog who’s run into a glass door way too many times.’

Another added: ‘I don’t blame him I couldn’t tell for a second either.’

A third said: ‘Omg the way he was scratching at the invisible door too.’
