Tucker Carlson has blasted Joe Biden over the chaos at the southern border saying that the president ‘tops the list’ of those to blame.
Speaking on his Fox News show last night, Carlson insisted he was not blaming migrants for ‘streaming across the border’, saying ‘you’d have to be crazy not to leave Guatemala for Texas’.
But Carlson insisted ‘Biden wanted this to happen’ amid a surge of people coming from Mexico and Central America, berating the president for telling refugees during the 2020 campaign that ‘you should come’.
‘The people streaming across the border want better lives for their families, and no one can hate them for that, least of all us,’ Carlson said.
‘The people to blame are the reckless ideologues who caused this disaster. Joe Biden tops that list. Biden wanted this to happen. He said so out loud at a Democratic debate.’
Tucker Carlson renewed his attack on Joe Biden’s border policies on his Fox News show last night but insisted he was not blaming migrants for ‘streaming across the border’
Carlson played a clip from the September 2019 Democratic debate in which Biden was asked why Latino voters should trust him after deportations had taken place during the Obama-Biden years.
After defending Obama’s policies, Biden added: ‘What I would do as president is several more things, because things have changed.
‘I would in fact make sure that… we immediately surge to the border all those people who are seeking asylum.
‘They deserve to be heard, that’s who we are. We’re a nation that says, if you want to flee and you’re fleeing oppression, you should come’.
Carlson said in his monologue on Monday that the Biden administration has ‘lost control of our main international border’ as facilities on the southern border fill up.
‘The overwhelming majority of these foreign nationals will remain here permanently,’ Carlson claimed.
‘If the Democratic Party has its way, they will become citizens and registered voters. These numbers are enormous, it’s hard to comprehend just how big.
‘It’s roughly the equivalent of a brand new Chicago every year, a city populated entirely by poor people with limited education who can’t speak English. Now, you’re not supposed to say any of that, but so what? It’s true.’

Congressman Henry Cuellar released images of migrants lying on the floor at a facility in Donna, Texas as US officials struggle to process rising numbers of unaccompanied children
Carlson also played an ABC News clip of a migrant from Brazil saying he would not have come during the Trump presidency.
‘They’re running from collapsing countries – they’re running toward Joe Biden. You could have seen this coming,’ Carlson said.
He also sought to forestall a ‘lecture about how opposing open borders is racist’ by touting Trump’s performance in Hispanic-majority areas in South Texas last year.
‘The all-Hispanic counties of South Texas don’t like open borders either. They made that very clear in the way they voted in November,’ he said
Many South Texas counties saw dramatic swings to Trump even as Biden made gains nationwide, although some still backed the Democrats by much-reduced margins.
Biden’s border policies since taking office have been mired in controversy over the fate of migrant children and confusing messaging by US officials.
Construction workers have been seen frantically building new tent cities to house migrant children in Texas
Officials are struggling to house and process an rising number of unaccompanied children, many of whom have been stuck in border stations for days.
Meanwhile, the number of families arrested at the border nearly trebled in February from a month earlier, climbing to about 19,000.
Republicans have accused the White House of ‘hiding the truth’ by preventing journalists from visiting border facilities.
Biden’s homeland security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas did not deny that 5,200 children are being held in centers meant for adults, above the peak under Trump.
Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat, said he saw hundreds of children packed into a ‘big, open room,’ and ‘fought back tears’ as he listened to a 13-year-old girl.
Online forums are awash with questions from would-be migrants about the current status of the border and whether families with children are being allowed to cross.
The posts sometimes lead to more than a hundred often contradictory answers from fellow migrants and some claiming to be smugglers.
