An Australian confidence coach and actress has shared some helpful advice on popular video app TikTok on what to do if you’re feeling stuck in your twenties.

Sanah Aslam, from Brisbane, recommended finding three hobbies to make you gain a sense of accomplishment and purpose while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle and state of mind.

The 24-year-old suggested choosing one active hobby, one creative hobby and a hobby to make you money that you enjoy doing.

‘In our contemporary world we see and feel so much instant gratification from the internet, and we feel less if we don’t get that instant success that we feel everyone else seems to be getting,’ Sanah said. 

‘However even instant gratification needs to be maintained, hustled and cared for to be a true asset. 

‘So stop worrying about other people, focus on yourself and trust your journey.’

1. Choose an active hobby

Sanah’s first suggestion is to choose a hobby to keep you active, such as yoga, pilates, boxing or a sport.

According to research, the minimum amount of physical exercise an adult should do each day is 30 minutes.

This will allow you to maintain a healthy weight, improve cardiovascular health and will assist with mental health and mood too.

2. Choose a creative hobby

Sanah’s second tip is to pick a creative hobby you enjoy to boost mental stamina and feel productive.

Some options could include taking up photography, painting, creative writing, acting, web design, journaling or learning how to play an instrument.

Creative hobbies allow individuals to feel productive and correlates back to gaining a sense of accomplishment or purpose after using your time wisely.

‘When you are conscious of helping others and making a difference, you will always be filled with motivation and purpose,’ Sanah said.

‘The reason why you feel like you’re failing is because you’re letting all the noise from the outside stop you from being the best version of yourself.’

3. Choose a hobby to make you money

Sanah suggested starting a drop shipping business, such as on Amazon, eBay or Etsy, which involves buying and selling common products people need.

Other options might include upcycling second hand furniture or selling paintings made from the second hobby.

Focus on yourself for at least six weeks

In another video, Sanah challenged her viewers on TikTok to change your twenties in only six weeks by making use of the three hobbies as well as keeping track of money spending and the amount of socialising you do. 

‘Give yourself six weeks where you unapologetically work on your goals without any expectations or pressure,’ she said.

‘The reason why you feel like you’re failing is because you’re letting all the noise from the outside stop you from being the best version of yourself.’
