The family of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer celebrated the woman’s 30th birthday and said that they are still hopeful that the ‘truth will come out’ some 10 years after the woman’s disappearance.

Spierer vanished in June 2011 after a night out with friends in Bloomington, Indiana. Since then, police have drawn a blank trying to determine what happened to her and still get tips about her disappearance.

Lauren’s mother, Charlene Spierer, took to Twitter to honor her daughter’s ‘milestone birthday’ while also offering a stinging rebuke of anyone who was withholding information about her daughter’s whereabouts.

‘Lauren would have been 30 today. If only,’ Charlene said on her personal Twitter page.

She continued on the @NewsOnLaurenS page: ‘It’s a milestone birthday for Lauren Spierer today. Her 30th. Lauren would be thriving in her career, maybe married and maybe even a mom.

Charlene Spierer turned her attention to those who may have information pertaining to Lauren’s disappearance.

The mother asked: ‘For those that know what happened to Lauren, do you think about her? What’s your life like now? Does it haunt you? Do you think about her at night when falling asleep? What about when you are alone in the car? Does your wife know? What will your kids think when they find out?

She continued: ‘For those that know, your pain is different than ours. We don’t live in fear. We live remembering the beautiful person she was. You live wondering when the truth will come out. When someone will slip & come forward. It always haunts you. And it should until the day we #FindLauren.

‘Remember, nothing ever truly disappears. Lauren didn’t vanish while hanging out with her friends on the weekend in college. People don’t just disappear. Either did she. Someone(s) know what happened. And the truth will come out. We have never stopped believing that.’

Lauren had been out with her friends on the night she went missing.

She was last seen alive on surveillance footage turning a corner near her apartment.

The alarm was raised when her boyfriend at the time texted her cell phone and got a response from a bartender who worked at the bar where she had left it.

Investigators quizzed the people she was partying with but none provided solid enough answers to explain what happened to her.

Her disappearance was also linked to the murders of other local girls who went missing in similar circumstances, but Lauren’s vanishing has never been untangled.

At the time of her disappearance, police shared information about a white pick-up truck which they said may have been involved.

It was seen circling the block near where she disappeared at the same time but it never led to any breakthroughs either.
