In the caption, she wrote that Jeffrey, 74, gave her a life she ‘could never have dreamed of’ as she wished him a happy anniversary.

‘Fifty-two years and still having so much fun!’ Ina wrote
‘Fifty-two years and still having so much fun!’ Ina wrote. ‘You gave me a life I could never have dreamed of. Happy Anniversary my love. (What’s up with that cake??)’
In the image, Ina — then just 20 years old — looks beautiful in an embroidered white dress with adorable fur-trimmed short sleeves.
She accessorized on her big day with a necklace and a bow-topped veil.
Jeffrey, meanwhile, looks incredibly sharp in a military uniform as the pair smile over their elaborate three-tiered wedding cake, Ina wielding a knife.
Just two months ago, Ina had shared another sweet message for her husband in honor of his birthday, writing: ‘Happy Birthday to the sweetest, kindest, smartest, most fun hubby ever! No one I’d rather be quarantined with!!’

Just two months ago, Ina had shared another sweet message for her husband in honor of his birthday, writing: ‘Happy Birthday to the sweetest, kindest, smartest, most fun hubby ever!’
The happy couple first met in 1964 when he attended Dartmouth and she, still a high schooler, visited her brother there.
In an interview with Today, Ina opened up about their husband.
‘I met Jeffrey when I was 15, and I have to say, I just knew he was the one,’ Ina told the publication at the time. ‘He’s kind, he’s smart, he’s funny, and he takes very good care of me. It’s wonderful.’ ‘
Addressing their long-distance relationship, Ina said that the couple makes sure to communicate with each other daily and visit on weekends.
‘And the thing is, even though he’s away, he’s like this anchor in the middle of my life,’ she said. ‘Instead of making me feel kind of lost at sea,’ Ina added, ‘it’s this big anchor in the middle of my life and it gives me enormous freedom, which is wonderful.’
The couple had celebrated their milestone 50th anniversary in 2018, which Ina marked with a whole week of Instagram posts.
‘Instead of celebrating our 50th Anniversary (yikes!) just on the day (this coming Saturday), Jeffrey and I decided to celebrate it all week long!’ she wrote on Monday of that week.
Adorable: In 2018, she celebrated their milestone anniversary with a whole week of posts, including this one of them leaving for their honeymoon
Europe-bound! She also shared a picture from the 1970s during a four-month-long trip through Europe
Times have changed: One of her Instagram thowbacks was this picture from when the pair worked in Washington D.C.
‘So I’m starting with a photograph of Jeffrey and me leaving our wedding for our honeymoon, tennis racquets in hand. It’s been an amazing 50 years!!!’
The photo showed the couple with huge smiles on their faces as they headed out for their trip, Ina in a stylish coat and hat and Jeffrey in a suit.
On Tuesday of their anniversary week in 2018, she shared a picture of the couple from the 1970s when they went on a four-month-long trip to Europe.
‘How about those outfits and the ‘70’s hair??’ she captioned it.
On Wednesday, she shared a picture of the couple in Washington D.C. that was taken when they both worked for the government.
She wrote: ‘Then there were the Washington, D.C. days, when we both worked in the government. We were very serious!! This is when I taught myself how to cook from Julia Child’s books… the beginning of it all!’
On Thursday, the 70-year-old posted a fairly recent snap of the two smiling in Paris, captioning it with a sweet story about how long ago, they dreamed of visiting the City of Lights together — and now, they own a pied-à-terre there.
‘Jeffrey, you’ve made all my dreams come true!’ she wrote, adding the gushing hashtag #besthubbyever.
‘Back when Jeffrey and I were dating, he wrote me a letter (which I still have!),’ she began the caption.
Happy place! She also discussed their shared love of Paris
Oui! She said she still has a letter he wrote her saying he’d like to take her to Paris, and now they own an apartment there
Score! The couple has had a pied-à-terre in the Seventh Arrondissement since 2001
‘He said he wanted to take me to Paris but maybe before we can afford to stay in a hotel, we’ll go camping; then later we could stay in a hotel; and maybe someday we could afford to have an apartment in Paris.’
They did all of that, and likely to a lavish extent even they never imagined.
According to the Food Network, they first fell in love with the city while on a budget back in 1972. They’d been traveling across Europe together, toting along a tent and camping stove.
They only spent five dollars a day, and Ina cooked meals on that camping stove like beef bourguignon, using ingredients she’d picked up at boulangeries.
As both made more money, and she turned from housewife into cooking sensation Barefoot Contessa, their lifestyle changed.
Then, in May of 2001, they finally bought that place in Paris, in the city’s Seventh Arrondissement. Ina had renovated it and kept it all a surprise for her husband, who didn’t see it until a year later.
‘The secret to a happy marriage is that he trusted me,’ Ina said. ‘I wanted it to be a surprise.’
And according to Jeffrey, ‘She had made everything so warm and so beautiful. Within five minutes, I felt like I’d lived there forever.’
